Melodie Gore (Q54595346): retired cosplayer and alternative model: (delete | history | links | entity usage | logs)

First of all, she's not an adult actress as stated in the item. She made appearances in two alt porn films in non-sex roles and there are some nude photos can be found but this fact doesn't make her 'pornographic actress' in the general sense, so the item misleads the users. Among a minimal number of Google search results there are nothing that proves her notability in the sense of WD:N #2, all I can find on her is that she's just a alternative cosplay model, in short a next-door tattooed girl with ~4K subscribers at Facebook. The Commons category is the only thing that's justifying the existance of the item but everybody can upload there anything and categorize it. Wolverène (talk) 21:22, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Can be deleted if the Commonscat was deleted as well. Otherwise "structural need" due to the Commons infobox. —MisterSynergy (talk) 20:02, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Should this mean that items can be created about literally everyone who distinguished with Commons category with a Wikidata infobox? Such a fragile privilege, sounds like the infobox is a sort of 'indulgentia' for items for non-notable persons. --Wolverène (talk) 05:57, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
That has been discussed several times in the past two years roughly, and lots of Commons users have strongly lobbied for such an approach. I do not like it as well, as I think that the Commons project has a serious problem with promotional content and unsourced content which in turn spills to Wikidata as well, but this is how it is usually done currently.
As a Wikidata admin, I am usually not going to file deletion requests for categories or files at Commons. However, if I think this should be done, I leave a note as above as a hint that someone else please does this. —MisterSynergy (talk) 20:10, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

There are on-going deletion processes for her images on Commons. If they're deleted, the category will be too. Esteban16 (talk) 17:23, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
As far as commons is concerned, I nominated a photo from a cross-wiki promotional campaign for someone trying to be an "entrepreneur/influencer". Article gone. Quote page gone. Item gone. The image nomination looks like it may fail because "Oh, look, she is wearing bunny ears. Let's add it to the bunny ears category." We really should work out some of these "rules", particularly how they cross projects. Quakewoody (talk) 20:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)

The item was created based on the Cycling Archives cyclist ID (P1409), for a statement in 2016 Asian Road Cycling Championships Men U23 RR (Q83284386). There is also a Russian Wikipedia article. Possibly the most recent edit [1] should be reverted. Peter James (talk) 18:48, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
I reverted; similar IPs have been adding a combination of correct information and incorrect, such as date of birth, which seems to be of another person (based on en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/مهیار_مهرنیا/Archive#Comments by other users 2). Peter James (talk) 19:01, 12 April 2020 (UTC)
In Latin letters, his name is found in the following variations - Name - Mehdi or Mahdi, Surname - Rajabi Kaboodcheshmeh or Rajabikaboodches Hmeh. @Trade: I will address this request after you have acknowledged the note that I attached to a prior request of yours, and which I am reposting here: A few things you could do to speed things up and make things slightly easier: 1) Use the {{Rfd links}} template, just as the rest of the requests on this page do, so that the link to delete the items is quickly visible to administrators. 2) If a number of items are created by the same accounts or are edited by related entities, then specifically grouping them would help in case Special:Nuke becomes useful. 3) The spam accounts creating/editing these items should be reported as a group (perhaps with reference to this deletion request) to the Administrators' noticeboard so that administrators can directly check them out. Mahir256 (talk) 03:09, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
I believe your last note was archived before i could see it. "edited by related entities" It's not always clear which accounts belongs to what person "The spam accounts creating/editing these items should be reported as a group (perhaps with reference to this deletion request) to the Administrators' noticeboard so that administrators can directly check them out" Last time i had a disagreement with Esteban16. Thanks Mahir!
Obviously  Keep Q50125758, as it clearly passes WD:N (and as I can't see any reason for requesting its deletion)... No opinion regarding the other items. Nomen ad hoc (talk) 15:29, 9 July 2020 (UTC).
At least one item, Mahesh Gupta (Q16186352), was recently kept because of the identifiers (Wikidata:Requests for deletions/Archive/2020/05/24#Q16186352) - there is no new reason for deletion. Peter James (talk) 21:54, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
Keep both Maganbhai Karamchand (Q19325961) and Mahesh Gupta (Q16186352): external IDs which suggest notability. --Haansn08 (talk) 01:16, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Delete Q61000000 as the pt.wikipedia article was deleted, and I can't find any other source other than copy/paste sites of pt.wikipedia that prove this person is real and can be described using reasonable sources. --Dhx1 (talk) 03:30, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
@Trade: As you can see, most of the items above have been deleted. Some, however, have not:
  • Q96924400 has a sitelink, and on the surface the accompanying enwiki article does not reek of spam like others might. If you disagree, I would suggest reporting the enwiki article as well.
  • Q76400028 is part of a network of items linked to Jayanta Nath (Q63790106), created by the same user and which has aswiki and enwiki sitelinks. While I tend to support deleting this particular item on spam grounds, if you find the other items and the links to them to be spammy, report these and knock HitomiAkane about arz as well.
  • I fear that addressing Q16212731 to its creator will bring forth torrents of complaints about the suppression of topics about minorities and other streams of disparate thought for which sanctions were once imposed on wikimedia-l, so either you can take the matter up with that creator or ping @Jklamo, Thierry Caro: who have also edited it.
  • Q47496153 is connected to a number of items pertaining to some Haitian radio network (some of the connected items having htwiki articles), so it would do you good to assess those as well. (Note that the creator of the prior item on this list might object to such probing.)
  • Alessandro Passoni (Q66808318) is linked to at least two other items, one of which has an enwiki sitelink. If you think those should be deleted, please report the linked pages as well.
  • Q63645138 is linked to two Greek tennis players. While having an item to more directly link multiple otherwise notable people within a family with specific properties is fine in my view (e.g. Khujastha Akhtar Banu (Q83818990), which connected a grandfather and his grandchildren through her), I don't know whether the specific relation being filled in in this case could be excised without causing issues with the otherwise notable (albeit small) family tree formed by these items.
The great variation in the items noted here, combined with the number of items related to the items noted in this request that could have been reported at the same time, have made this request take longer than I'm sure you would have liked, for which I offer my apologies. Mahir256 (talk) 20:19, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
"I fear that addressing Q16212731 to its creator will bring forth torrents of complaints about the suppression of topics about minorities and other streams of disparate thought for which sanctions were once imposed on wikimedia-l" Could you eleborate on this? What is Wikimedia-1?--Trade (talk) 21:00, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
@Trade: The creator of that item is also the writer of this post and is the subject of this sanction (both of which are on the mailing list wikimedia-l). After taking this into consideration with regard to that bullet point, please also take some course of action one way or another with regard to the other five bullet points in that list. • We should discuss what "notable" means (even for a recently-born child of celebrity, there may be numerous coverage, though they are usually not significant). As long as this may be useful in infoboxes I will oppose to deletion.--GZWDer (talk) 17:37, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
    • Worth noting that quite a number of people in the table above have their own Wikipedia articles, or entries in major biographical dictionaries/encyclopedias. The relationships are useful. Even beyond those: in general, the kind of people in TP are exactly the kind of people that it is useful to have in Wikidata and be able to match to, because they are the kind of people who eg turn up again and again in county histories, that one wants to be able to find and record that they founded a school, endowed a church, ran a great estate, became a leading churchman, had a significant military career, had a son who became an MP, etc, etc. It is incredibly useful to have these people in WD (with the biographical/family information to identify them), so that one can find them, match them, and easily record these kinds of statements. Jheald (talk) 18:22, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Not deleted here, but this does explicitly not mean that this item meets the notability criteria. There have been multiple discussions regarding content based on ThePeerage entries which makes it pretty difficult to keep an overview, thus there should be a general discussion at a central place, ideally in an RfC that defines which sort of content from pages like ThePeerage should be considered notable and which not. This discussion also needs to consider the value of family relationship backlinks. —MisterSynergy (talk) 17:47, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

No, it's up to you to explain why this item is notable and not the other way around. If you can't, the item doesn't respect WD:N. Otherwise everyone can create any item and link it all up by repeating "structural need". And I repeat: all external sites, Peerage included, aren't criteria for deciding the content of WD. The primary purpose is on the home page: Wikidata acts as central storage for the structured data of its Wikimedia sister projects… The goal is not therefore to list the whole World and say everything is notable since it is linked. •  Keep structural need via Peerage. If you don't like Peerage entries, take it up at Project Chat instead of diving right into deletion. --RAN (talk) 20:18, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Hello RAN, "structural need", it's in relation to WD only (internal links or sitelinks). External sites have no editorial right over WD. The Peerage person ID (P4638) is a property like any other. It's the same for Spotify or IMDb (as I have seen on other RFDs): Items can be deleted even if they are present. WD is not a genealogy, movie, or socializing site. Only the criteria cited in my first sentence are valid criteria. Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 01:54, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Keep @Eihel: That's factually false. We also need to consider the structural needs of Wikiprojects that may want to use our data to feed their infoboxes and other templates -- that is one of the fundamental raisons d'etre of Wikidata.
In the case of this item, this person is the son of Grenville Temple Emmet I (Q5607533), who has articles on three wikis and a category on Commons. The item is needed so that the person can be named as his child in the corresponding infoboxes for Grenville Temple Emmet I (Q5607533), such as eg the one on WikiCommons. So what we have here is in fact a classic example of structural need. Jheald (talk) 17:34, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Hello first of all Jheald, I am only responding to RAN, because - and I stand by what I wrote before and on all similar reviews that I have been able to respond to in this page - the reason is not valid. Instead of your first sentence, what you wanted to write had to be more like "You are right, but you have to keep it because… (the rest of what you write)". What you write is the same as what I write, then you give the correct answer. So if you think you're right, I'm right too. It may be the terms external-internal links that are confusing you. However, they don't want to pretend to express anything else: w: en: Grenville_T._Emmet is an internal link and /www.thepeerage.com/&id=p38442.htm%23i384417 p38442.htm # i384417 is an external link. Only when it is proposed for deletion for the reason "Notability", the internal link is suitable, but the other not. "structural need via Peerage" will never be a sufficient reason to keep an Item. For the reason you mention,  Keep is my opinion on this Item only. (Wait for the next response) Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 18:00, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

RAN No, if there is a link to ORCID, it is valid. But WD is not a catch-all. If you want to take things from any site, those objects have to be notable. You cannot decide that everything on Peerage is valid. Linked data is only done internally and what you call structural link is not done outwards. You can put whatever you want on WD, I wouldn't stop you, but it has to respect WD:N. The community has just edited these conventions: this Item does not allow you to link two Items as a "structural link" and the only item to which it's linked is also in RFD. So, wrong, you don't put what you decide on your own if it doesn't respect conventions. I advise you to read WD:N more carefully. Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 03:20, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
To expand on what I wrote above, the inclusion of at least one degree of separation in each direction (ie father / mother / child / spouse, and at least spouses's parents too) of someone with a Wikipedia article or encyclopedia article or article in a detailed biographical source or of intrinsic notability must be considered to satisfy structural need, because we need those items in order to identify the individuals and make relevant statements on the central item. The peripheral items make those statements possible, otherwise they are not. That is the very essence of structural need. Jheald (talk) 17:44, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Hello again Jheald, I am even more permissive (inclusive) than you on ascendants and descendants. Lineage has an encyclopedic meaning for me, if only from a cultural point of view. A property of the Identifiers part is not a sufficient reason to keep an Item. Identifiers implies external identifier / link (such as the type of a property for example). If the applicant expresses the reason "Notability" in their request, the requestor should be answered with a reason arising from WD:N. Again The Peerage person ID (P4638) is not a sufficient reason because this reason is not found in WD:N. I can imagine that I no longer looked until the end of each Item present in this page after the nth request with the nth identical reason, but a deletion request that has no valid reason to be kept risks a deletion. RAN needs to keep this in mind. Anyone who gives the reason IMDb or Spotify, it has the same consequence. Spammers will employ the same technique. I have started to pinpoint the problem and it is confirmed in my own request for #Q76302537. RAN writes "We agreed to import The Peerage". No, not everything in Peerage should be included in WD just because The Peerage person ID (P4638) exists. Kind regards. —Eihel (talk) 18:09, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
A by-the-way example of the usefulness of systematically adding spouse and child information: a query for MPs whose sons/daughters-in-law were also MPs: https://w.wiki/a2A These rather interesting relationships can only be extracted because we have those properties populated with items, almost all of which have come via The Peerage import. Jheald (talk) 19:29, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
I asked very specifically at Project Chat if we had a limit on the degrees of separation from a notable person in Wikidata and the answer was no. Also note that Commons and Wikisource have projects loading and transcribing whole tranches of newspaper and magazines. If people can be identified and are information dense, we should have a entry for them in Wikidata. For instance look at this proto-project to identify WWI military casualties: Commons:File:New Jersey War Dead 1726747 Box1 Folder 29-027.jpg We are veering into the concept of Notability in English Wikipedia, where people need to be famous. Here we just need to people to actually exist with some external reference, to weed out fake entries. --RAN (talk) 18:47, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Not sure I quite go as far as the latter, but yes I think the point about the import or group overall being sufficiently "information dense" as an aggregate was indeed the ultimate prevailing view at Project Chat immediately after ThePeerage import, when the import was allowed to stand. Jheald (talk) 19:29, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Every entry in a phone book, if the notability guidelines are taken literally, absolutely "refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity. The entity must be notable, in the sense that it can be described using serious and publicly available references." It doesn't matter if the phone number or address changes, because we can depreciate data. The only that that matters is, a phone book is a serious reference available to the public which identifies a subject (person, business, or government agency). Quakewoody (talk) 06:49, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
  • I agree that in theory a phone book is eligible, but we prioritize what we upload, based on the amount of work, and how information dense the data file is. That would be the work to information ratio. All bulk uploads need to be approved by consensus, and we prioritize those uploads. We also have to have a way to disambiguate entries and match entries, and merge duplicates, I am not sure how we would handle 100 or 1,000 John Smiths, based on an outdated now disconnected landline telephone numbers. But you are correct in the that a phone book would be eligible. I say, just not a priority. --RAN (talk) 15:22, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

General questions about Emmet family members

Question Is any one of them notable beyond being in TP? --- Jura 07:21, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

@Jura1: Yes.
If we look at the descendents of Robert Emett (Q75891071), see Talk:Q75891071, that is arguably the most meaningful family tree for this discussion, though note that it omits wives of his descendents and also any other ancesty lines of those descendents.
Searching ODNB and DIB in Mix'n'match gives the following https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/?#/search/emmet?include=1,3347
Beyond these, the entries also record in passing further spouses, parents, children etc that having items here allows us to be able to record.
So those are some of the more notable people in this tree; but I can't exclude that there may be further people who are notable in other ways, published papers or books that we record, may have been closely related to other such people, etc. Jheald (talk) 07:57, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
@Jura1: One thing from these queries that is striking to me is that even though above I thought only six members of the family had bios, it turns out the number is much larger -- and this for a family who were descended from Irish nationalists, rather than the Peerage's typically much more "establishment" figures. (And of course the queries above can only reflect links and matches we know about so far). I think this does support RAN's point that ultimately the community allowed The Peerage import to stand because of the density of people of interest within it, and the value of recording their network. This works for TP because of its specific focus. The same justification would IMO not apply to a broad import for as site like WikiTree person ID (P2949), which has 30x the number of individuals, or FamilySearch person ID (P2889) with perhaps a factor of 50x again -- those would be more like importing the phone book, in a way that TP was not. (However, even for those sites, targeted inclusions of family networks close to people we already have items for might indeed be appropriate; and matching is of course very very welcom). IMO we definitely do not' set out to be a general genealogical site like the latter two. But I do think ThePeerage has a sufficient density of useful items overall, that now it is in it is worth keeping. IMO there are things to do (improving our data, resolving anomalies, identifying and combining more duplicates, matching more external sites, ...) that are far more valuable and productive uses of our time than putting effort into snipping around the edges of the TP import. Jheald (talk) 07:52, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
I don't really recall many arguments from the discussion around TP. The dataset wasn't complete so no detailed analysis was done. I can understand from a British point of view, TP can be interesting to have, but I think one would have a hard time to explain to Charlemagne's descendants why they aren't notable. --- Jura 08:03, 22 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Do you mean English Wikipedia notable, or Wikidata notable? By definition being in The Peerage makes them Wikidata notable because they are "described using serious and publicly available references". --RAN (talk) 04:56, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
    • I think TP says itself that some of their stuff isn't serious (as just came from some database merge). Besides, in some countries, phone books are a serious business and publicly available. --- Jura 06:34, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
Eligible for upload based on our rules, but not a priority. As for "I think TP says itself that some of their stuff isn't serious", can you please link to that quote from their website. By [not] "serious", do you/they mean fraudulent or whimsical? --RAN (talk) 15:27, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

First of all, NSFW detected, so those who's editing Wikidata during the work like me, just be careful. :) If in short, it's just a promotion page of a webcam/home porn star, her representative probably confused Wikidata with her own Twitter or Xtube account. @Iamthecheese44: Keep. The time for complaining about these was when the whole site got mass-imported. Whatever the rights and wrongs of how it was done, there was extensive discussion on Project Chat afterwards, and the community took the view that the upload should stand. So it's not appropriate to chip away at it by odds and sods now.
But even on the narrowest reading of WD:N, I don't think you've done your due diligence. Take an item like Ian Lyle (Q75276195) that you have nominated. Father a baronet. Son a baronet. So the item is necessary, at minimum, if one wants to trace how that baronetcy descended, and how the present holder is related to the first holder. In general, IMO at minimum anyone holding a hereditary title in the UK should be considered notable, as should all relatives within one degree of separation.
  • I specifically asked if there was a minimal or maximal degree of separation from one person with Wikidata notability to others, and the answer was "no", so long as they can be defined using external identifiers, to exclude prank entries. Clearly based on the number of Google searches on Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr living relatives alone. It is a common question people ask, on whoever they are interested in, from history. --RAN (talk) 21:04, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Regardless, as I said, the TP items were considered by the community as a whole when they were imported. Now is not the appropriate place to re-litigate that.
One further point: Cutting away family information from this set is also exceedingly unhelpful to ongoing attempts to properly merge and de-duplicate this set. JhealdBatch (talk) 12:48, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
  • "Child born and died the same day" (eg: this deletion) is also not grounds for deletion, because losing a child like that is significant information in respect of the parent, if the parent is notable. Creating such a child item is where that gets recorded on WD. JhealdBatch (talk) 13:24, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
  • [edit conflict] @Iamthecheese44 If you want to nominate something, nominate it. But it makes it really hard to track down who some of these people are when you delete parts of the data from the item. Some of these people are a valid 'structural need', but they look blank because you removed that piece of information. Quakewoody (talk) 12:50, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
  •  Keep Clear structural need for completing family trees. As pointed out above, the time to question was when the project was proposed for upload. And as I pointed out previously, English Wikipedia notability rules about genealogy are not Wikidata notability rules about genealogy. It would have been better to pose this as a question at Project Chat rather than dive into deletion. See Commons:Queen_Elizabeth_II as an example of an extended family tree. Wikidata is more interested that something actually exists, rather than how famous it is. --RAN (talk) 19:56, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
  • I wasn't around when this all got imported but I have no idea how it meets the notability standards. I'd be ok with deleting them all or revising the notability standards. Clearly not all of these serve a legit structural need. Maybe some do but the mass import was a bad idea and just creates confusion. BrokenSegue (talk) 11:55, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
  •  Delete Q76011923 and Q76011922, not notable. --- Jura 02:46, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Keep. per RAN. The import was a mess, but now that it's here many of us have done significant work in adding to these entries, linking them to other items or images, and creating trees which depend on many minor links in the form of "non-notable" items. Gamaliel (talk) 17:25, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
  •  Keep The import of Peerage predates my time working on Wikidata and I have occasionally been annoyed by these entries, but they clearly serve a structural purpose. For that reason alone they should be kept. William Graham (talk) 19:16, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
  •  Comment I think they should be look at in detail. It's clear that items related to people with hereditary functions in the UK and elsewhere are different from items about people born long after such functions existed. Merely basing notability for living people on an identifier in one or the other genealogical databases can be seen as a systematic bias in Wikidata. --- Jura 19:22, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Classic reductio ad absurdum, Phone books are not information dense, they contain a name and a telephone number and an address. Telephone numbers and addresses are not permanent identifiers, so we just have a name. We also need to disambiguate people of the same name, there would be no way to match people in a phone book to existing entries. However a school yearbook would have one additional piece of information. It would have an approximate birth year and an education= entry. Even then it would not be information dense, just having two properties. I believe at one point we considered uploading the Callum database of West Point graduates, but went with a mix-and-match to existing records. --RAN (talk) 18:21, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Summary If we don't want some TP entries, come up with some objective criteria for deletion and get consensus for it, and we can have a bot delete them. What is going on here is subjective deletion with all the inherent biases that come with a single person deleting what they do not find interesting. If everyone got to delete what did not interest them, there would be nothing left in Wikidata. --RAN (talk) 05:57, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
    • We have notability rules that are objective already. This fails notability since it has no serious external reference and isn't needed for structural reasons. BrokenSegue (talk) 13:29, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
      • (mostly)  Keep Isn't the site itself an external reference? Considering there is an identifier property for it would make it seem so. That being said, I seem to remember some items from TP that I found lacking, although I don't quite remember why. Is it them that sometimes include questionable data marked with a "(?)"? If individual items are of low quality, they should be deleted. And if anyone wants to make a case that there are systemic quality problems with the data, more extensive deletion would be plausible. But only for quality reasons, not notability. --Matthias Winkelmann (talk) 17:48, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

RAN, I don't think there is any need for Chat anymore with your last intervention. In your sentence: We agreed to import The Peerage, could you tell me where it's written precisely "import the Peerage" ? Then if you want to talk to me, you can notify me, because I can't be everywhere. Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 05:48, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
I think it is potentially quite useful to be able to use {{Wikidata/FamilyTree}} on any wiki, to show immediately how Jessica Home fits in to that famlly, because now that we have the data here we can immediately do that
Link: Snapshot image of the above as of 2020-08-20
This means that if, for example, we get photos of any of these people on Commons, we can add a family tree to the page to show how they are.
The other point I would make is that it may be quite early to judge whether particular people from The Peerage import are significant, or have close ties to people who were significant. In the last three months, after the bulk upload, we have matched 25,000 TP items to non-TP items that had been pre-existing before that date, almost doubling the number; and that process is still going on at pace - in the last week, a further 3000 items have been matched. And having started looking at eg English baronets last week, I know there are still a huge number of matches to be made. So, in general, just because a TP item doesn't appear to be closely connected to anyone with lots of external links right now, that does not mean that that item will never have such links: often it may turn out to have such potential connnections, it's just that the necessary merges haven't yet been identified and made to bring them out yet. (Also, the more family links that are left in, the more chance there is of finding and tracking down these crucial merges).
Secondly, it's worth noting that the identification and linking of people depicted on Commons is still only at quite an early stage. So at the moment it is hard to be really sure whether any item here may or may not still turn out to be useful, eg for Commons SDC.
Would I have prioritised importing the whole of TP when User:GZWDer did, back at the start of the year? Maybe not. But now that the items do exist, I see no value to be gained by deleting them. At the very least, let's leave them in place for at least another few months, rather than destroy potentially useful information, until have done more linking, and can get a more certain idea of which items really may or may not be close to other items of interest. Jheald (talk) 11:33, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
  • (I wasn't here for the Peerage discussion) - Having been disconnected from my lineage, I only recently found out that I am a descendant of Q3044 (illegitimate/bastard child), we have a town named after us, and at least 2 of our family castles have WP articles. Quakewoody (talk) 12:57, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
  • I was told that just about everyone in The Netherlands can claim to be his family. So, that part is not a big deal to me. But not everyone can say they have town named after them or that their castles are featured on WP. Quakewoody (talk) 16:20, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
    • A town is generally not named after a living person (unless one is incredibly old or totalitarian). There are plenty of family names that somehow relate to place names. Wikidata allows to do quite a lot in that field. Still, I don't think we need to create an item for everyone with such a name. Statements can be made on items for the names. --- Jura 17:23, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Ultimate reply Jheald, We are all sons and daughters of 2 people, but the last answers make you understand that we don't all have a place in WD. The unknown great granddaughter of someone with a WP page, is that your reply? It's a bit light. We will not go back to Methuselah (Q156290) either!
    • So if an item respects WD:N, it can be kept.
    • If someone can't find notoriety for an item, they place it here. If another contributor wants to counter this deletion, a valid argument must be given. Peerage is not one, RAN. And it is the one who wants to keep the Item who must express that he respects WD:N : the requester has already hypothesized that notoriety is not respected. Show him he's wrong, it's more rewarding.
    • Just like "Peerage person ID = XXXXX" are not valid descriptions, User:GZWDer.
    • It is better to make pages on other projects (which can be given as a pledge within the meaning of WD:N) before risking having his work destroyed here.
    • Here, a contrario the previous request, WD:N is still not respected.
    • I was waiting for a response from RAN. There is no discussing what can be taken from Peerage, WD:N already does. The great cousin of an unknown person has no place in the project. If you want an Item to have its place, WD:N must be changed. Afterwards, you will reply me that WD:N is respected by point X through the fact that we have the right to put "the great cousin of an unknown person".
    • IMDb, Spotify, Youtube still don't have editorial rights here and that will never change. So avoid giving this opinion to keep an Item, because it is inadmissible, RAN, here and on all other requests. If I find an reply like this, I would tend to vote for deletion, without even looking to see if the request is valid.
    • Reply me in the respect of conventions and I would bow, quite simply. Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 18:37, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
You constantly say an entry violates Wikidata:Notability but never express exactly how it is in violation. It is similar to holding up a bible and telling me the answer is in here, without specifying a chapter or a verse. Everything at Wikidata:Notability is numbered to make it easier to refer to. Rule 2: "It refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity. The entity must be notable, in the sense that it can be described using serious and publicly available references." --RAN (talk) 18:48, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
First of all, I was not the one who asked the majority of these requests on these families (in fact I made only one, this one). Those who filed these requests mostly write "Notoriety", so go to those. When rules dictate WHAT to respect and you ask what is not being respected, I question myself strongly and I return the question to you. Where is it not being respected, you ask? Everywhere, since someone writes to you that it is not respected! You took as an explanation "structural need via Peerage" until now, that doesn't mean anything and "structural need" is not in n° 2. Your example is even more confusing. An exact example would be: they tell you it's not in the Bible and you answer "structural need via Torah" !? Which means that you have consulted them (at least partially) and you have been able to give me a more convincing reply. For rule 2, we hit another problem: "I put it in my sauce" with "described using serious and publicly available references", even if it doesn't suit everyone. Because not all conventions are "up to date". So that WD is not a garbage can. Because in all properties with "authority record" I don't necessarily include everything. GZWDer, this is what I am designing here, right now: if you find me a
  • ascendants to the third level or
  • descendants to the second level or
  • first cousins,
which is notable in the Wikipedian sense, I bow down. I can't do better. Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 01:15, 22 August 2020 (UTC)

The issue is: Are there sources describing the relationship? If yes, this person belongs to Wikidata. On one hand, vital records described almost everyone (this does not mean it is now the time to create items for all people, as scalibility is an issue - see Wikidata:Requests_for_comment/Handle_genealogical_information), but some are described in additional sources; on the other hand, there are no modern people with documented descent from any of (suggested) common ancestors of all humans such as Adam and Eve.--GZWDer (talk) 22:12, 21 August 2020 (UTC)

Spotify and IMDb aren't a sufficient reason to keep this item (they have no editorial rights on WD, otherwise any Youtuber with 10 subscribers would be on WD). —Eihel (talk) 04:02, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Do we know that, as example, if Andy Johnson appears on a album, he will be given an entry on Spotify if the album gets added. AND, if a different Andy Johnson appears on another album, he will be added to that same listing. Thus, Andy Johnson will look like he has two albums.
I have even seen 'verified artists' that have messed up entries. And IMDb is nothing more than a wiki. In fact, you can get IMDb for YouTube videos. Quakewoody (talk) 17:08, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
That's an example, RAN, and it's not against you. This is to say that outward links have no weight in the decision. I wrote this to you multiple times before you added your line. Again, Properties related to IMDb, Spotify, Youtube, Peerage and most of the other properties of the external identifier part have no decision-making power in this page, and in our pages. You really need to review WD:N: "structural link" doesn't mean "external link". And external link means completely external to WM. So stop using that argument. The contributor adds a lot of irrelevant Item (read his talk page). I would also like you to add a {{Vd}}, please Quakewoody, to avoid ending up with this useless item. If you think any/every Youtube entry gets a IMDB entry, I challenge you to upload a video to Youtube and then get an IMDB entry for it and post it below. --RAN (talk) 23:57, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
