Several Star Trek characters have "affiliation --> Starfleet". What should we do to replace that? Employer works in that case, but not for Q (the character) where it's "affiliation --> Q Continuum" or Seven of Nine, who should (but doesn't) have "affiliation --> Borg". In all three cases, affiliation is a stand in for 'faction', but in the latter two cases, affiliation denotes fictional race while in the first it denotes occupation. I know very little about Star Trek, but if I understand correctly. "Q" is the name of both an individual and a species. So to keep it consistent with "instance of human". I would say that Q (individual) is an instance of Q (taxon), and per the discussion of fictional thing that Q (species) is an instance of fictional taxon. As for the Q continuum, it appears to be the place of origin of the Q (species) and I suppose we could have Q (individual): place of birth (P19) Q Continuum (Q2706873) or Q (species): endemic to (P183): Q Continuum (Q2706873)
The name of all induvidials of the Q-species are "Q", also the females. The most known female Q was acting as (male) homo sapiens helmsman on Enterprise and God in the last novell I read. -- Lavallen (talk) 10:20, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
