DELETE IMAGES: no description: (delete | history | links | entity usage | logs)

thank you B64 (talk) 01:44, 9 January 2019 (UTC)

@B64: These images are hosted on commons.wikimedia.org, so you need to request deletion of the images there. Wikidata is only linking to images, not hosting them. --Pasleim (talk) 14:10, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
So,  Not done, as this is not the right place for this request. - cycŋ - (talkcontribslogs) 07:09, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

science award (Q11448906): award for science: (delete | history | links | entity usage | logs)

A science award is suggested to be needed as a subclass of award. However, no argument is given why it is needed, it is redundant and even the suggested use fails because many awards given to people for their scientific work cannot be marked as a science award. Awards that are in a high regard like an OBE in England. Given the behaviour of the proponents; disparaging the competence of others, the discussion has not been civil. There are no solid arguments why we should have this item so it can e deleted --GerardM (talk) 06:56, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

 Oppose Valid sitelink (WD:N #1), fulfills structural need (WD:N #3). Bencemac (talk) 08:09, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
Not really an issue, what this request will achieve is remove it as a subclass. Thanks, GerardM (talk) 08:44, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

 Not deleted. There is a sitelink to jawiki and structural need beyond the subclass hierarchy and its related use in other items. This decision does not imply that no changes should be made to the use of that item; it just means that deletion is no viable path to easily get rid of it. —MisterSynergy (talk) 08:43, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

@Pigsonthewing, Ohtani tanya: To me it seems that all data has been correctly moved to either parricide (Q51159758) or patricide (Q10345565). Do you still think Q610491 should be kept? --Pasleim (talk) 19:16, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

@Adelsheim: There are still two sitelinks on Category:Kissami family (Q21994992) which you created. If the categories are notable, then basically Q21555536 is notable too because of structural need. --Pasleim (talk) 18:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

@Jura1, Harmonia Amanda: Thoughts? Mahir256 (talk) 18:30, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Nope, should be kept separated, one is about a name and the other one is a disambiguation page. Two different things, so two items needed. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 18:33, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Actually I do not understand, what means LUA (Q15184295? How it is relevant here?) and why Harmonia reverted my edits. They are both about the same family name (I checked orthography). Taivo (talk) 07:48, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
I think the page in German is a disambiguation page. This is not true for w:Erdinger. Accordingly, the items at Wikidata have different statements. --- Jura 07:59, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
First sentence "Edinger ist der Familienname folgender Personen" means "Edinger is family name of these persons". That means: German article is about family name. All three other articles (French, Polish, Portuguese) are also about family name. Taivo (talk) 17:31, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
I think you would need to remove the notice at the bottom of the page. Otherwise, German Wikipedia sees it as a disambiguation page. --- Jura 17:58, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

This is bonkers. It's clear that all the Wikipedia sitelinks are lists of people with the surname Edinger, yet we let our own obsession with family name has to use a different item than disambiguation page (Q27924673) prevent us from putting the sitelinks together. I strongly support merging. Deryck Chan (talk) 14:02, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

  •  Keep per Harmonia Amanda. No matter what actually contains in pages from both items, there are two different items with two (technically) different kinds of information, for disambig and for surname, and there should not be another opinion but keeping them separated. We can't convince the users of the German Wikipedia (and of some other ones) not to set the surname lists as common/unspecified disambugiation pages, and it's not among Wikidata goals. --Wolverène (talk) 00:05, 20 December 2018 (UTC)
