For the place to request CheckUser access, see Wikidata:Requests for permissions/CheckUser.
Requests for checkuser
This is the place to request investigations of abuse of multiple accounts or of other circumstances that require use of checkuser privileges.

Requesting a checkuser

Please don't ask us to run checks without good reason; be aware of the following before requesting:

  1. Checkuser is a means to choose for difficult cases. If multiple accounts show clear behavior patterns or editing type, please post on the administrator's noticeboard.
  2. Running a check will only be done to combat disruption on Wikidata, or as required to assist checkuser investigations on other Wikimedia wikis.
    • Valid reasons for running a check include, for example: suspected block evasion, vote-stacking, or other disruption where technical evidence would prevent or reduce further disruption.
  3. Evidence is required. When you request a check, you must include a rationale that demonstrates (e.g., by including diffs) what the disruption to the project is, and why you believe the accounts are related.
    • Requests to run a check without evidence or with ambiguous reasoning will result in delays or the request not being investigated. Do not post requests for fishing without any grounds.
  4. The privacy policy does not allow us to make a check that has the effect of revealing IP addresses. Do not post requests to compare IPs to accounts or IPs to IPs comparisons.
  5. Requests to run a check on yourself will be declined.
Outcome

Responses will be brief in order to comply with Wikimedia privacy policy. Due to technical limitations, results are not always clear.

Privacy concerns

If you feel that a checkuser request has led to a violation of the Wikimedia Foundation privacy policy regarding yourself, please refer the case to the Ombuds commission.

To request a checkuser

Cases are created on subpages of Wikidata:Requests for checkuser/Case.

Creating a request
  • Insert the name of the suspected sockpuppeteer (the main account or puppetmaster, not the sockpuppet!) in the box below, leaving out the "User:" prefix. Do not remove the text in the box, add to the end only.
  • Please explain/justify the request by saying what it is you suspect and why it is important that the check be carried out. Indicate the usernames you suspect, using {{checkuser}}. Please do not use this template in the section header, as that makes it difficult to read the account names. Include the diffs or links required to support the request and reason for it.
  • There are people to assist you and help with maintenance of the page. Just ask for help on the admin noticeboard if you really are stuck, or take your best shot and note that you weren't completely sure of what to say.
  • If a case subpage already exists, edit the existing page instead, either adding to the currently open section (if the case is not yet archived) or adding a new section to the top (if the case has been archived). When editing an existing case, be sure to list/transclude the subpage here at the bottom.
Example
If you want to request a checkuser on User:John Doe, enter the text Wikidata:Requests for checkuser/Case/John Doe then click "Make a checkuser request". You will be taken to a page where you can fill out the request. Please make your request there brief and concise.

Translate this header box!

Rationale, discussion and results

Reason:

Eiskrahablo, Mbis Saravon, USSF144, Indigenouswikicom and Sarawon are all already globally locked. Botreview is also a sock according to w:en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Eiskrahablo/Archive but hasn't been globally locked.

Wikilingua is editing the same items as those accounts (mainly items about the languages, people and culture of Indonesia), e.g. Special:PageHistory/Q12497929 was also edited by Mbis Saravon, USSF144, Sarawon and Botreview, and Special:PageHistory/Q615660 was also edited by Mbis Saravon, Indigenouswikicom, Sarawon and Botreview.

The style/type of edits is also the same, e.g. Special:Diff/1596936703/1596937504 is Botreview replacing subclass of (P279) with instance of (P31) and adding a discoverer or inventor (P61) statement linking to an ethnic group. Special:Diff/1600752754/1600753644 is Wikilingua doing the same, and Special:Diff/1541072833/1560962082 is Mbis Saravon adding "language" to the end of the en and en-gb labels. Special:Diff/1594306486/1594310907 is Wikilingua doing the same.

Results: Confirmed: Wikilingua = Qipehe = Bakipepedia = Botreview = Malayzy = Ozokha = Sarawon = Eiskrahablo = Mbis Saravon = Indigenouswikicom = USSF144

Suspected related IP address:

Rationale, discussion and results

Reason: All these accounts and IPs seems to have similar pattern in repeated vandalism on some Wikidata items (as well as the Wikipedia articles). (Chirphand (talk) 08:04, 21 April 2022 (UTC))[reply]

I think the users you suggested are also worth noting, but I also think it's worth noting that the account you just created posted 2 requests. Is there any reason you are sending the request to the newly created account? It's hard to believe that this is your first time doing a wiki. --Sotiale (talk) 07:25, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But there's no justification for socking, right? these accounts related to one another and I've read that only administrators who could do that for limited reasons, clearly these accounts aren't administrators. I reported these accounts because at first I want to update the informations on some Wikidata items, but I noticed that these accounts having weird pattern on editing, these accounts have the same intention to delete the stable version of informations and clearly have similar name. Initially I only have suspicion for these Mandaut30 (and his sockpuppet accounts), but later I also found out another account that have similar editing pattern but I don't think it's related to Mandaut30, so that's why I made another report for accounts that might related to Orhanghazi. (Chirphand (talk) 09:09, 23 April 2022 (UTC))[reply]

Results: Declined @Chirphand: You need to post specific diff links of edits that you believe to be similar and explain why they are similar enough for you to believe they are operated by the same person.--Jasper Deng (talk) 00:16, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for providing more evidence. All three accounts appear Confirmed with each other and Likely are the same user as Mzlatarek7 (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log · CA · checkuser (log· investigate), which however seems to have been mistakenly locked. For now I am blocking all but the oldest of the three accounts here.--Jasper Deng (talk) 06:08, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

9 July 2022

Rationale, discussion and results

Reason: @Jasper Deng, Sotiale, Lymantria: Hello, I would like to make new report related to former report in 22 April. These newly created accounts created around the time when its main account (Mandaut30) blocked. It's worth noting that the main account (Mandaut30) blocked indefinitely as well in English Wikipedia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/block?page=User:Mandaut30).

According to my personal instinct, the account of User:Pikaso13 is related to Picasso20; User:Mandaut is related to Mandaut30; and User:Fight for the true related to Pikaso13, Picasso20 and Mandaut30. I provide all comparison below.

These accounts again and again vandalized the same pages:

  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1635857668 (Pikaso13)
  2. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1662103093 (Pikaso13)

which shows the same exact edit compared to its previous blocked account:

  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1622806410 (Picasso20)
  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1669219449 (Pikaso13)

which shows the same exact edit compared to its previous blocked account:

  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1626392032 (Picasso20)
  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1647683740 (Pikaso13)
  2. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1659709872 (Fight for the true)
  3. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1673434679 (Fight for the true)

which shows the same exact edit compared to its previous blocked account:

  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1612031807 (Mandaut30)
  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1662103404 (Pikaso13)
  2. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1635858039 (Pikaso13)

which shows the same exact edit compared to its previous blocked account:

  1. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1622806040 (Picasso20)
  2. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1622728987 (Mandaut)
  3. https://m.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1622163333 (Mandaut30)

(DatawikiID (talk) 01:16, 9 July 2022 (UTC)) @BRPever:--Trade (talk) 01:42, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Result: I performed no checks on Farhan Curious. I don't think there is any indication in the reason as to why this user should be checked. Mandaut is Stale. Pikaso13 and Fight for the true are technically Unrelated.--BRP ever 02:37, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

22 April 2022

Rationale, discussion and results

Reason:

  • All these accounts are related and show similar pattern on vandalizing articles
  • Alexander Iskandar already blocked in Wikipedia since 2017 for disruptive edit, but hasn't globally blocked yet
  • The creation user accounts date of Orhanghazi and Alexander are so close and perform similar pattern on editting articles

Results: @Chirphand: You're going to have to be a lot more specific than that; this is not sufficient evidence to conduct a check.--Jasper Deng (talk) 00:14, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

25 April 2022

Rationale, discussion and results

Reason: All accounts were created less than 40 hours before I filed this request. Nearly all accounts have the exact same local accounts on their CentralAuth: Commons, Wikidata, and English and French Wikipedias (in addition to Meta and loginwiki). All accounts are creating new items of dubious notability on Wikidata, and most are uploading images to Commons to go along with them. All accounts add labels and descriptions in French. Accounts seem to be focused on items related to Guinea (Q1006). There might be even more accounts; I probably haven't found all of them. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 01:23, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

May I? It seems that almost all this people is linked or working for the Ministery of Health of the Guinean governement. That's what they wrote on their personal pages in fr.wp. In the other hand, two of them wrote about a wikipedia event who toke place some days ago. So... Hyméros --}-≽ Yes ? 23:56, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hyméros: Ah! I didn't check their French Wikipedia pages. Then I agree; they're probably participants in some event. Sorry for the spurious request! This should be considered withdrawn. Thanks for figuring this out. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 01:28, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Results: Declined as withdrawn per above --Alaa :)..! 19:39, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
