HakanIST[edit]
RfP scheduled to end after 9 February 2016 17:03 (UTC)
- HakanIST (talk • contribs • new items • new lexemes • SUL • Block log • User rights log • User rights • xtools)
On Wikidata I'm constantly reverting vandalism and monitoring new items for duplicates (for merger) and reporting RfD. I keep my watchlist updated with items persistently vandalized. I'd like to use the admin tools so I can do more. Also, as I'm native speaker for Turkish and active member of Wikimedia Turkey Usergroup, I try to help against language barriers anyway possible.-- Hakan·IST 17:03, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- Support - He knows when something needs to be deleted and when not. A regular visitor to the DR page and his DR's are always valid. Mbch331 (talk) 17:29, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- Support HakanIST is very (very!) active in counter-vandalism and other admin areas, and seems like he could use the tools well. Thanks for volunteering! Ajraddatz (talk) 18:08, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- As an admin you'll should have a look at the Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard. How would you handle a case like this (Removal of sources)? --Succu (talk) 23:17, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- @succu: I was actually following the case, edit warring is just wrong as removing sources, and the course of action taken by everyone else -listening to all parties- wouldn't have been changed by me.-- Hakan·IST 00:00, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- So what could be done better in such cases? --Succu (talk) 21:40, 3 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- From my point of view (after reading the log at the taxonomy project talk page) ideal thing to do is politely ask your counterpart to respect Wikidata and Taxonomy Project's structure. I don't want to speculate on the possible outcomes but at any point if I deem necessary I'd enforce third opinion from the project community by protecting the item. I'm sorry that it took long for me to go over the issue in detail.-- Hakan·IST 22:26, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- Re: a recent case that happened, did you know that Wikidata has local oversighters which can handle requests for suppression, rather than stewards? Ajraddatz (talk) 21:17, 6 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Yes I know they can but I made a quick decision to inform by IRC and none was available there, maybe I should have sent an email, next time I'll do that, thanks for reminding.-- Hakan·IST 02:45, 7 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
