I am an administrator on Russian Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. I have been participating in the Wikidata since very beginning and now I have 120K edits (plus 667K under the PBot account). I am creating tools for more intensive use of Wikidata in other Wikimedia projects, but this has the opposite side: because Wikidata is not well protected against vandalism, and information from one element can be used in thousands of others, it is vulnerable to vandals. Recent events in Russian Wikipedia have shown that there is vandalism, which is not observed by users from other projects, but they are very harmful to ruwiki. Because of the language barrier, it is difficult for users to find somebody who can help. Therefore, my main purpose of obtaining a flag is to fight against vandalism. Also I plan to improve the Russian localization of MediaWiki messages.

- Support - Based on his answer on my question he indeed needs the admin bit to fight vandals. Mbch331 (talk) 17:31, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Putnik has very good and long-term experience as sysop in Russian Wikipedia. He is one of the most expert users on wikidata in Russian Wikipedia and he has a big contribution to integrate Wikidata and ruwiki.--Draa kul (talk) 18:24, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Support wikidata usage in ru-wiki is pretty high, so does visibility of wd-vandalism (see [1]). It would definitely helps if someone who speaks Russian and active at ru-wiki will be able to (semi)-protect some items --Ghuron (talk) 18:38, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

- Oppose doesn't respond to bug reports about tools he develops.
--- Jura 20:06, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]- I'm very sorry that I did not answer. If possible, give a link to the bug report. In fact, I answer questions and reports dozens of times a month. But since there are a lot of them, and they all appear in different projects, then sometimes I miss or forget something. —putnik 12:36, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

- Support. Almost single-handedly supports the entire Wikidata integration in Russian Wikipedia and has written tools that have provided Wikidata with more than 300,000 edits in the project. More than sure that his tenure as a sysop would be even more productive both to Wikidata and to Russian communities that use it. stjn[ru] 11:57, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

- Which rights does an admin have that you need to fight vandals? Mbch331 (talk) 17:06, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Protect (mostly semi-protect) and block. I understand that in the Wikidata, page protection creates a lot of problems. But sometimes this is the only solution. —putnik 17:22, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- As with other admin requests related to vandalism, I encourage you to join Wikidata:WikiProject Counter-Vandalism. The more counter-vandalism work here the better! ArthurPSmith (talk) 20:34, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Do you also see yourself closing long-term discussions (including deletion requests and Rfc's) at some point? Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 20:44, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- I do not speak English as well as I would like. Therefore, the writing of long texts causes me some difficulties. So I would prefer not to do this. —putnik 12:30, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
