- Motivation
Disambiguation page items currently have no content on then other than instance of (P31)Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410). It seems like it's a good idea to add some actual data to them. This is my first property proposal. Pppery (talk) 18:36, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

- @AVRS: what does this have to do with Wikitionary? Pppery (talk) 21:00, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Pppery: what do you think would the use of your proposed property be, compared to a search for labels and aliases? How to avoid a mix-up of languages, if you intend it to? --AVRS (talk) 21:34, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
- It seems that you don't speak any non-English languages, so maybe you don't understand the problem with moving disambiguation pages to Wikidata and limiting (or not limiting) them to homographs. Take the word "pole". In English, it can refer to a celestial pole, or to a cylindrical object. In Polish, it means "field", so it mostly disambiguates items like field (Q188869). However, English proper names probably stay "Pole" in Polish Wikipedia, while Russian articles for all three are separate: поле ("field"), полюс ("celestial pole/cylindrical object"), Поул (family name, although this one can also use a "Pole" disambiguation page). --AVRS (talk) 21:34, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

- Oppose this seems like an attempt to duplicate the work of Wikipedias. At least on en.wp disambiguation pages can disambiguate homographs, homophones, related concepts, misconceptions, search terms and anything else that is or can be ambiguous to a topic. A single string can have multiple disambiguation pages or a single disambiguation page can cover multiple strings, ditto concepts, these are not stable and any correspondence between languages is as likely to be coincidence as anything else. - Oppose It's a disambiguation, the meaning is irrelevant so this property it's useless --ValterVB (talk) 18:30, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per the above. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:06, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Comment this discussion makes me wonder whether wikidata should actually include any disambiguation page items at all. They are not describing a single concept. Interlanguage links wouldn't be useful. Why include them in wikidata? ArthurPSmith (talk) 15:21, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- Probably in future will be possible replace disambiguation page with "live query" :) --ValterVB (talk) 15:27, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- They are describing the concept of "list of things that are called XY" ChristianKl (talk) 17:22, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Not done @Pppery: lacks support. You might want to look into the suggestions to automate so of it: Wikidata:Bot_requests#Take_care_of_disambiguation_items

- Should be thought again : this property could help build disambiguation page in other languages and explicit them. Example : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lathi , the Q should collect in this property the other Qid of disambiguation. I would also add the contrary property : "page of disambiguation where this Qid has been stated" Bouzinac (talk) 09:49, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
