- Motivation
Dataset with 1500 names of Chinese artists, involved in poster designs for the Communist Party. Biographical notes of over 675 artists are provided with an url. Artists are linked to the Landsberger collections of the International Institute for Social History. Names both in Chinese as well as Western script. The website is owned and maintained by the Chinese Posters Foundation. Stefan R. Landsberger (Leiden University, University of Amsterdam) is editor and responsible for contents; Marien van der Heijden (International Institute of Social History, Amsterdam) is co-editor and website designer. chineseposters.net went online in September 2007.
