Motivation

This Wikidata property to identify taxa (Q42396390) offers information on protection status and distribution of species in Belgium, vernacular names in Dutch, French, English and German and photographs. It improves our knowledge on biodiversity in Belgium. Higher taxa have their own identifier, offering not much information, but by a click they can be viewed placed in their taxon tree. •  Comment - the English vernacular names just repeat the English names we already have from other sources, but with nonstandard capitalisation. This results in annoying duplication in the VN lists on Commons. I'd recommend dropping the takeup of their English names. No problems with the rest. - MPF (talk) 21:08, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
