Easy edit-request

please fulfill Translations talk:Wikidata:Tools/Lexicographical data/1/sl. Translation admin cannot do it. Estopedist1 (talk) 09:04, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

I do not think I can do it either, but there is a suggestion there which OP can follow. Ymblanter (talk) 19:33, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Request for a flood flag

I plan to add over 1M statements (P31) using QS to chemistry-related items. This is related to this page and the discussion in WikiProject Chemistry that is linked there. After that some existing P31 statements will be removed and some will be moved to P279 or other more specific properties. The whole process will probably take more than a month, but I plan to make all edits that require the flag within several days, probably the number of edits will exceed 2M, so the flood flag would be very important for this. Wostr (talk) 12:36, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

have you considered applying for bot permissions on an alternate account? 1MM edits is a lot. BrokenSegue (talk) 18:05, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
I'm not really sure why I should consider this. The only difference here would be splitting the edits between two accounts which combined with the need to create another account, applying for the VPN-exempt flag, creating a page for such account, redirecting the discussion page to my main account... it does not seem necessary or beneficial for any reason. About 10 batches of 20k edits each per day, such edits can be filtered out from RecentChanges or Watchlists using two different filters, each batch can be easily reverted if needed. So, no, I'm not considering creating another account for this and I don't think I should. Wostr (talk) 19:42, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
because a million edits is something that should be approved by the community because undoing it is very expensive? BrokenSegue (talk) 19:48, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
And you think that a few people with random specialties on Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot page would approve it better than a few people in WikiProject Chemistry? If you want I can ask about it in WD:Chat, but still it's not an argument for creating another account and rather for a broader discussion than the one that has already been held. Wostr (talk) 20:41, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
ah I had missed that there had been prior discussion about the change. I only saw the page where the change was proposed. BrokenSegue (talk) 20:57, 22 January 2023 (UTC)

Request for a bot flag

I plan to add 27,485 values for P11033 as described in this bot permission request. Test edits are done. The bot has no bot flag yet. For subsequent tasks, I will file new requests on the bot permissions request board. DL2204 (talk) 14:47, 27 January 2023 (UTC)

Bot flags should be requested at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot, see also Wikidata:Bots#Approval_process. Lymantria (talk) 17:34, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
Yes, the request is there, Wikidata:Requests_for_permissions/Bot/DL2204bot. DL2204 (talk) 19:26, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
@Ymblanter, is this maybe an unseen left-over? Would like to finish this task (or fix anything to fix in the request) DL2204 (talk) 15:40, 14 February 2023 (UTC)

Request for bot flag

Hi, I'd like to request a bot flag for DoggoBot per this permission request; trial edits are done. Thanks! EpicPupper (talk) 02:46, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

Request for Pseudobot

Please add me to the pseudobot usergroup for autoremoval (Massdelete in a other wiki) WikiBayer (talk) 12:58, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

I do not see such usergroup on Wikidata. Ymblanter (talk) 20:05, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
???
???
@Ymblanter Has the group been abolished in wikidata? WikiBayer (talk) 21:56, 4 March 2023 (UTC)
I see, it is flooder in English. Will grant it now, please do not forget to remove the flag when after you have completed the task. Ymblanter (talk) 22:00, 4 March 2023 (UTC)

Abuse filter to be deleted

I am not sure an administrator can delete an abuse filter, or do we delete them at all? Outdated and unnecessary is Special:AbuseFilter/190 Estopedist1 (talk) 06:34, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

@Estopedist1: Admins have the same rights as bureaucrats here. You can just mark the filter as deleted by checking the appropriate box. --Lymantria (talk) 06:55, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

Inactive translation admins

Hello. We do not have a real inactivity policy for translation admin rights, but Wikidata:Translation administrators says: "they are removed if a bureaucrat deems it appropriate to do so (e.g. due to inactivity)". Looking at the activity stats there are translation admins who have not edited Wikidata since a few years. Therefore I would like to suggest to remove TA from the following users who have been inactive for more than two years:

Flooders flag

@Vogone, Ymblanter, Lymantria:I would like to request Flooders flag as I'm going to run large number of QS batches on almost daily basis to add bnwiki links or information in Bangla. Those edits repetition in the RC which does not required to passage. However, I would greatly appreciate it if I were granted Flooders. Will be remove itself once not required. Two Jacob sites about given name

I think it should be looked into if they can be merged together. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q25999604 https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q63074571#sitelinks-wikipedia Bakjb (talk) 15:59, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

Not sure this qualifies as one name, but in any case bureaucrats do not have any special abilities which could help with the issue. Ymblanter (talk) 20:13, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
