Motivation[edit]
I propose two universal paired properties which should be used as qualifiers for quantity values. It can replace a huge amount of possible separate properties like date of debut (When did Lionel Messi (Q615) debut in La Liga (Q324867)? When did Novak Djokovic (Q5812) debut in ATP Tour (Q300008)?), date of birth of the first child, release date of the most recent episode of the series, date of the latest murder committed or first flight (P606). Based on this data, it will be possible to calculate the youngest authors of goals in the league or to sort the subways by the opening date of their newest stations. It will be possible to choose all female tennis players who gave birth at the age of 20, without creating elements for their children. I am sure that it will give infinitely many useful applications. We assumed similar functionality when Wikidata:Property proposal/Total goals in career was proposed by LesserJerome but later we learned that start time (P580) and end time (P582) have a different purpose so we need this new property for correct using of total goals in career (P6509). Discussion[edit]
- Info: singles record (P564) (from example 2) is not an integer and therefore this may not work as intended in example 2 --Mad melone (talk) 12:17, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- However, it is possible to agree here. I think the meaning will be clear, but creating a separate property for the sum of victories and defeats is redundant. Anyway it will come in handy along with the number of wins (P1355) - for example, to show date of the latest win of Manchester United F.C. (Q18656) in Premier League (Q9448) or the latest win of South Korea national football team (Q543842) in FIFA World Cup (Q19317). Сидик из ПТУ (talk) 13:48, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

- Support This seems useful for quantities counting events in time which do not warrant their own Wikidata items (e.g. each goal scored does not require an item). However, I'm not sure about the proposed usages on physical quantities since the meaning seems to change based on what the item is (e.g. when used on Hero of Socialist Labour (Q208167) it is presumably intended to represent when they are awarded whereas on Fabergé egg (Q331225) presumably represents when they were created). --SilentSpike (talk) 15:56, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
- Nevertheless, this functionality will be useful for physical quantities too. We can correctly write the documentation, prescribe the meaning of the qualifier depending on the property (pay attention to the number of Also known as at inception (P571) including very specific written on date or date constructed) and create more specific propety for awards like the "number of awards presented" (will be useful for Academy Awards (Q19020)). - @Сидик из ПТУ: Since you are proposing two separate properties here, it would be helpful if you split the proposal template into two to make it easier to create them when approved. ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:36, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
