Motivation[edit]
I'm co-organizing an Open Data Day event next saturday, and we'll clean, model an upload data about Brazilian dams (on account of catastrophic environmental crimes such as Bento Rodrigues dam disaster (Q21402069) and Brumadinho dam disaster (Q60998244)). This identifier is given by the government system that is reponsible for the information about the security of the dams. Ederporto (talk) 23:12, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

- @Mike Peel, Sturm, Ederporto: I think this is a great example of why the current policy of the one-week threshold is too cumbersome for external identifiers. But still, creating this now would formally violate the policy. If other property creators are willing to go ahead anyway in this particular case, I would be happy with it. − Pintoch (talk) 14:08, 8 March 2019 (UTC)

- I wouldn't want to bend current rules. I would suggest that for the Open Data Day, you put the IDs into catalog code (P528) and then we move the data once the property is created into the new property. ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 14:42, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
