Broken link[edit]

Hello, you inserted invalid file link in this edit. Commons does not have such file. Most probably your are trying to specify link to Wikipedia local file. But local files are not supported by Wikidata. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 18:08, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Q5563465[edit]

Cette suppression me semble donc surprenante.

--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 14:48, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Pas de soucis, si je peux aider :D --Melderick (talk) 14:50, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

synonyms[edit]

Hi Archaeodontosaurus,

I see that you overwrote the taxon name (again) by that of the name of a taxon that some taxonomists judge to be correct in this case. This is not the way it is done here: it is totally uninformative. Firstly, Ambulyx moorei already has its own item, and a new duplicate is unnecessary. Secondly, it destroys information: where else should we put the information about Ambulyx thwaitesii than in the item dedicated to Ambulyx thwaitesii?

If you possess information that some taxonomists are of the opinion that Ambulyx thwaitesii is a synonym of Ambulyx moorei, then you are welcome to add that information by using "taxon synonym" (taxon synonym (P1420)) in the item Ambulyx moorei (Q2622767) with as value Ambulyx thwaitesii (Q15785915). Preferably this should be referenced by adding a good taxonomic source. In addition, it is possible to add in the item Ambulyx thwaitesii (Q15785915): "instance of" (P31) "synonym" (Q1040689) with qualifier "of" (P642) and value Ambulyx moorei (Q2622767). Preferably this should also be referenced by adding a good taxonomic source.

That way we retain all the information available. It is never a good idea to change the taxon name in an existing item (except when according to the Rules of the appropriate Code of nomenclature it is misspelled). - Brya (talk) 09:15, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Synonyms are a plague we must fight them. For Ambulyx moorei there are at least nine synonyms, we are not going to make an entry for all. Some butterfly have 69 synonyms. There are rules that you very well stated, but we must not be robots, each entry may be a special case and can be discussed. I will not modify the page but I will report the anomaly in the page of discussion when the case will be presented. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 15:47, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it depends. Synonyms are a reality, but vary greatly in nature. There are prominent synonyms that are found widely in the literature as valid/correct names, and very obscure synonyms that are found only in the most thorough taxonomic works, but that otherwise nobody has heard of. Wikidata should have items for all the prominent names/synonyms (NPoV), but the obscure ones are indeed a problem. A common form that this problem takes is that somebody imports lots of obscure names (creating an item for each one) and we are left to make some sort of sense of them. - Brya (talk) 17:53, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Dutouit - Les Fiançailles - Musée des Augustins - RA 2020.jpg[edit]

I deleted File:Paul Dutouit - Les Fiançailles - Musée des Augustins - RA 2020.jpg so I will no longer keep adding it to Q21816901 each time I process c:Category:Artworks with Wikidata item missing image. --Jarekt (talk) 18:40, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cordialement, VIGNERON (talk) 18:25, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Je ne connaissais pas cette règle. Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 18:36, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 12:26, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thx[edit]

Thank you for thanking me. Greetz! Bukk (talk) 13:55, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
