Discussion

- Comment I don't know if this is the correct way, but I agree we need to hold it on WD. Take a look to this "old discussion" where I received an alternative way. In that moment, I abandoned the topic. May be you could see it and consider if it is an alternative. Thanks, Amadalvarez (talk) 16:22, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- @Amadalvarez: It's possible to expand the string value of a property with LUA within <hiero></hiero> tags. Unicode, where supported, would be an alternative. French Wikipedia seems to use only hiero. --- Jura 21:48, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
- I wonder if Unicode is not used that much as it lacks the formatting options offered by WikiHiero and/or input in codes might be easier. --- Jura 17:52, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
- Support. Thanks, Jura1 for your explanations. Amadalvarez (talk) 04:38, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
- Support. Of course, such a property is necessary for Wikidata. I think the Gardiner notification is the easiest way to do this. Of course ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs are now specified in the Unicode character set but I think there are now ways to make the special arrangements of hieroglyphs. If this could be possible in future a bot can transform Gardiner notifications into Unicode. --RolandUnger (talk) 09:38, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
