- Motivation
A lot of books and websites collect famous people's last words before they die. It would be nice if we could serve as the most comprehensive database for this too. Thierry Caro (talk) 14:50, 17 April 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Support – but references to this property should be
andatory!encouraged! Jonathan Groß (talk) 14:56, 17 April 2017 (UTC) Edit: Jonathan Groß (talk) 06:31, 25 April 2017 (UTC) - Is this not more of a WikiQuote thing? Thryduulf (talk) 16:13, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- As there is only one line – usually one sentence – that qualifies for being the last words of a given person, I guess this can also be stored here. It will be easier to query, for instance. Thierry Caro (talk) 16:31, 22 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Thierry Caro: I understand Jonathan Groß support to be conditional on the property always needing references. The description currently doesn't indicate that this is always required. ChristianKl (talk) 20:16, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think this should be mandatory. There are much more important data, such as birthdates, that don't require a mandatory reference. Of course references are always welcome but mandatory, for this specific propertty, no. Thierry Caro (talk) 20:22, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Thierry Caro: Birth dates can be checked relatively easily. For last words, it's more difficult. They are subject to forgery and adulteration. The reliability of the statement should therefor be indicated in some way, I think. Jonathan Groß (talk) 06:19, 25 April 2017 (UTC) P.S.: http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/print/d-13499548.html
- I have never come across mandatory references on this website, that is why I oppose such a thing here. Whatever, it is of course much better to add references anywhere it's possible. Thierry Caro (talk) 06:24, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
- Alright, my support is not conditional. Jonathan Groß (talk) 06:31, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
