- Motivation
The SNAP Id is a unique identifier for ancient persons. The identifier is generated by the SNAP project with draws from multiple prosopographical projects. Initially focused on the Classical world it is intended to expand and cover persons and person-like entities from a greater temporal and geographical domain.
The identifier comes out of an academic project to aggregate the the existing person data produced by research projects and generate a unique identifier to support academic and other linked data outputs which reference known persons and person-like entities.
