Motivation[edit]
The National Archives and Records Administration of the United States (NARA) has created more than 650 file format preservation plans which describe formats, provide links to specifications and authoritative resources, and provide rich preservation plans. By including this external id in Wikidata we could provide links to this information from their Wikidata items. This information is relevant for strategic preservation planning related to digital content and will be of interest to the digital preservation community.
