Minecraft username may be needed in addition to the Minecraft UUID identifier which I also proposed. This should be used as a qualifier to Minecraft username, or possibly the other way around like Twitter numeric ID is a qualifier to Twitter username. •  Strong oppose I'm unsure of the value in having minecraft IDs in Wikidata. However, my opposition here is specifically to this username property - please use website username or ID (P554) is a qualifier to the true ID property. It works fine for the scenarios of unknown ID because Wikidata has special values for those which you can still qualify. We do not want to keep repeating the same mistake that was made with twitter identifiers because having two properties just introduces much more potential for orphaned data and mistakes/confusion. --SilentSpike (talk) 23:55, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What is stopping us from simply replacing the Twitter identifier with it's numeric identifier? @SilentSpike: --Trade (talk) 23:40, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Trade: I don't want to go too off topic in this proposal, so all I'll say here is "inertia". If it had been numeric from the start there'd be no issue, but now users of the name property inhibit its replacement. This is why I will strong oppose any similar proposal. --SilentSpike (talk) 18:42, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
