Motivation[edit]

WikiProject sum of all paintings has more than 50 participants and couldn't be pinged. Please post on the WikiProject's talk page instead.

J. Paul Getty Museum agent DOR ID (old) (P2432), eg https://www.getty.edu/art/collection/artists/377 redirects to https://www.getty.edu/art/collection/person/103JV9 . This page includes human-readable info and "APIs & other identifiers" on the bottom that lists:

  • Permalink: the new prop
  • DOR ID (internal digital object repository): the old prop
  • TMS ID (internal collection management system)
  • API URL: semantic URL, GUID based
  • SPARQL endpoint

The old prop is just one of multiple identifiers, and it's an internal one. Also, there are not only Artists in there, but also manufacturers, makers, mecenats (eg tsars), etc. So it should be renamed to "J. Paul Getty Museum agent DOR ID (old)", and the values migrated to the new prop. WD has 1054 values (about 9% of total).

I have a SPARQL query to get all Agents with fields ?guid ?name ?old ?new ?ulan ?nat ?role ?birthDate ?birthPlace ?deathDate ?deathPlace Note: ULAN is present for 35% of persons, and 9% of groups. Then we can use OpenRefine or Mix-n-Match to match and ingest.
