DFK Paris person ID
[edit]Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Authority control
Description | Identifier (ID) for an individual person in the databases of the German Centre for Art History (DFK Paris). A person can have different roles (artist, curator, translator, art historian, etc.). The databases provide information on historical events (such as exhibitions or debates in art history), articles or works related to the person. The IDs do not refer to the individual database, but are continuously assigned across all the databases created as part of a research project at DFK Paris. |

Planned use | First of all, a page has been inserted under https://dfk-paris.org/en/page/index-datenangebote-3303.html, on which all databases and digital editions are searched for persons of the DFK and links lead to the search results. Each person got an individual DFK ID that allowed the recombining of appearances of one person in the following databases and collections of the DFK Paris: OwnReality ([1]), Deutsch-Französische Kunstvermittlung ([2]), Correspondence of Henri Latour-Fantin with Otto Scholderer ([3]), the travelogues of six german architects of the Barouque-era ([4]) and the catalogue of the items in the Palais Beauharnais ([5]). Subsequently the property will be added via Quickstatement to about 10000 items in Wikidata. The property joints the Wikidata item to the databases of the projects. Finally, sample queries in SPARQL for the Wikidata Query Service are presented at https://dfk-paris.org/en/page/prototypes-and-research-2941.html (to be deployed). |

Motivation
[edit]The Wikidata Property forms a backbone of our strategy to link the data currently dispersed over several projects and to add to Wikidata as a central and internationally established hub in LOD. Wikidata is especially interesting for art history and here projects focussing on personal networks, as it has no focus on neither artists and collectors (like Getty ULAN) nor authors (like the German GND or VIAF). – The preceding unsigned comment was added by RPC 75010 (talk • contribs) at 08:33, 26 octobre 2022 (UTC).

Discussion
[edit]- In principle Support, but RPC 75010: I’m not exactly sure what values should be accepted? Would it be DFK0002314971? (regex
DFK\d{10}
, seems like a good choice)? Or do you propose to skip theDFK
part? --Emu (talk) 06:38, 16 November 2022 (UTC)- Thank's a lot RPC 75010 (talk) 14:51, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Support I changed the formatter to include the DFK part of the identifier. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 21:15, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- Perfect. Thanks. It's how we imagined it to be, but I wrongly noted it.Merci! RPC 75010 (talk) 14:51, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

- The ID for the third example led to a different person. I have corrected the ID. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 00:57, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
