Hymnary.org page
[edit]NOTE: I revoke this proposal, since the community has since approved and created overlapping properties Hymnary author ID (P6300) and Hymnary text ID (P6348). I will propose new properties for the remaining data types held at Hymnary.org. Beleg Tâl (talk) 18:24, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

- Question: Why doesn't this have an 'external ID' datatype? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:23, 11 December 2018 (UTC)
- Question: I agree with User:Pigsonthewing. This should probably be a 'external ID' datatype. Todrobbins (talk) 20:53, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
- Answer: because I don't know what 'external ID' datatypes are, and each database item has a unique URL... so URL was the best option I knew of. If 'external ID' is better then let's do it. I've updated the proposal accordingly. Beleg Tâl (talk) 01:31, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

- My plan was to propose separate properties for them separately over time, but I have no objection to a combined property. Gamaliel (talk) 23:52, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose With current name and description. The description tells me nothing about what kind of content the property points to. There's also no explanation why the description says "page" when normally our external identifier properties don't. The current examples also contain questionable values (e.g. full urls). - @ChristianKl: suggested alternatives? Beleg Tâl (talk) 13:29, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
- Name might be "Hymnary ID". Description might be "identifier for a hymn text, hymn tune, hymnal, author or ?instance? on Hymnary.org, ***short explanation of what Hymnary.org is***" ChristianKl ❪✉❫ 18:17, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose Note Hymnary author ID (P6300) has already been created, so we should avoid having this general property which would cover the same ground. Specific proposals for texts and tunes make sense. Maybe a single property covering the other types (hymnals, ?) would be ok though? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:38, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
