Motivation[edit]

The Biographical Dictionary of Sculptors in Britain has more than 3000 biographical entries for sculptors in Britain before 1851. Given that the charity Art UK is massively stepping up the number of records for sculptures in the UK that it has photographed, and records for corresponding sculptors that it is putting online which we track with the P1367 property; and also the ongoing drive to upload images of public sculptures in the UK to Commons and to document them, this would be a valuable cross-reference.
