Welcome to Wikidata, Trijnstel!

Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

merge.js[edit]

Hello Trijnstel. You can use MediaWiki:Gadget-Merge.js to merge two items. With this gadget, you also could nominate a rfd request automatically on Wikidata:Requests for deletions if you checked the "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" option. This gadget and the option will help both the user and admins - admin could easily check the items (MediaWiki:Gadget-EmptyDetect.js) and delete the requested item just by one click (MediaWiki:Gadget-RfDHelper.js). Just for your information :). --Penn Station (talk) 07:36, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Penn Station. Thanks for informing me. I did know about that gadget and about the fact that you can easily request deletion, but I usually merge items via Wikipedia. Thus I usually don't need the gadget... But I didn't know it's also useful for admins (easy check and delete), so I'll consider using it in the future. Thanks! RE: Abimelech[edit]

Hi, Trijnstel. I'm sorry for the fuss, I'm quite new to this project and I still don't understand everything I have to do. You'll see if you check the interwikis that the articles linked are now (hopefully) ok. There are four kinds of articles on Abimelech(s): a Disambiguation/General, The king related to Abraham, The king related to Isaac and The Judge, son of Gideon. I know a left a couple of orphan pages (like this) while rearranging the links, and I'm sorry I don't quite well see how to make them redirect to the right place (or delete them, in any case). Thank you for everything. Best regards, Qoan (dis-me!) 11:03, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Qoan: But now there are three items (Q1343803, Q9560890 and Q20983954). Q1343803 redirects to Q9560890 and that one redirects to Q20983954. It's a mess now.... Lymantria, since you're more experienced and also did something here... can you please assist? I don't get it all anymore. Trijnstel (talk) 13:04, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Usually this is fixed by a bot. But all should be redirected to the item with lowest Qid. So all is redirected to Q1343803 now. Lymantria (talk) 15:48, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Lymantria: Thanks, but not exactly what I meant. I think he splitted the item in different items, while I'm not sure that was the right thing to do. But if you think the problem is solved and it's good like the way it is now, then I'm fine with it too. Trijnstel (talk) 16:10, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I did nothing more than rearranging a mess of redirects and put the sitelinks into the lowest Qid-item. I did not merge what wasn't merged already. Lymantria (talk) 18:42, 19 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bobby Brown[edit]

Hello, Thanks for this corrction

The image was used by at least 2 diffent language articles on their article about the musician. I removed them, and hope there are not any more. :) --Hsarrazin (talk) 23:22, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ohhh, thát was the reason! I wondered how a pic of a basketball player ended up on the item of a musician. Thanks for fixing. Trijnstel (talk) 23:25, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Vraagje n.a.v. kroegdiscussie[edit]

Even een vraagje i.v.m. deze edit.

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment[edit]

Dear Trijnstel,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards
