Lack of activity in the video games project

1
Kirilloparma (talkcontribs)

Hello! I regret to inform you that in accordance with this discussion, you may soon be removed from the list of participants in the Video Games project due to your inactivity.

The project participants came to the conclusion that if a certain participant has not been active for a long time and as a result does not show a minimum of interest in the project, then he can be removed from this list. We do this in order not to exceed the limit of 50 participants (see phab:T200350) and give newcomers the opportunity to join the project. In this regard, could you please confirm that you are still interested in the project? If so, please confirm it here below by pinging me. If, however, you are no longer interested and you want to leave the project, then feel free to remove yourself from this list.

If this request is not answered within two weeks, then in accordance with the discussion, any of the participants has the right to remove you from the list, but you can re-join at any time if you wish. Also, please kindly note that even if you confirmed that you will remain in the project, but you still do not show activity in it, then you can be removed without further notice.

In any case, thank you for your participation and for your help in the Video Games project! Regards

I unfortunately missed this interview request and did not respond.

Hi Josve05a,

I noticed your editing stats in Wikidata, which led me to look up your profile. Thank you for all the great work!

I’m reaching out to you because I’m working on a research project about understanding what motivates editors like you to contribute to Wikidata. We’re also interested in learning about how you feel your contributions are being used outside of Wikidata. Since you are such an active community member, I thought you might also be interested in helping to build the broader community’s knowledge about Wikidata, and why it matters.

If you’re interested, let’s schedule a time to talk over Zoom, or whichever platform you prefer. If you are interested, please fill in a questionnaire. The conversation should take about 30 min.

Hope you have a great day,

Charles

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

Oh god, I'm so sorry. I'm not sure how I missed this message. I hope that your research went well regardless!

Summary by Josve05a

Provided examples of items which starts with lower cases, and explained that only proper nouns should begin with capital letters.

Adithyak1997 (talkcontribs)

You have recently reverted my edit on the item Researcher. I would like to have an example of an item that starts with lowercase. Please note: I am not trying to convince you that my edit is right.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)
Adithyak1997 (talkcontribs)

Thanks a lot. I haven't read that yet.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

No problem! Here to help if you have any other questions. Have a nice evening :)

Succu (talkcontribs)

Could you please complete this item. Thx.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

Done-ish.

Succu (talkcontribs)

Why do you think this literature misspelling is notable?

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

This item clearly falls within point 3 of Wikidata:Notability, as it fills "some" [sic.] structural need, since it is linked as a parent from Monohammus vastator (Q52292859). Q52292859 is notable also due to point 3 of Wikidata:Notability as well, since it is listed as a taxon synonym of Acalolepta vastator (Q48969816). (If you believe any of these should be deleted despite falling clearly within the notability policy as being in scope of Wikidata, please discuss using a deletion discussion or bring it up on a village pump, rather than try and delete it yourself. I'd hate to edit war against you again.)

It is also listed on multiple taxon databases (as either a valid taxa, or as a taxon synonym), and is therefor "clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity which can can be described using serious and publicly available references. A taxon synonym is always notable. A misspelling might not always be, but if it is listed in multiple other databases as either a taxa or a synonym, it becomes a notable misspelling.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

Also, "Monohammus" is mentioned on multiple occasions as a synonym on Wikipedia. enwp, sv, etc.

P569 and P570 for Q20652845 with no source

Larske (talkcontribs)

Jura1 (talkcontribs)

Hope you don't mind too much that I moved your statements there. I was about to link Q43303800 to something else.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

Sure, don't mind at all. Cheers :)

Matěj Suchánek (talkcontribs)

Hi, I'm just letting you know that I wrote a bot which is currently merging dupes from User:Josve05a/dupes. What is left are conflicts which need to be solved by hand. Thanks for these lists.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

Please note that I only created queries on that page for up to 1950s.There are much "older people" still out there, if you want to get them as well :)

Matěj Suchánek (talkcontribs)

I see. I actually wanted to do querries year by year but Pywikibot interface only allows to query for single items, not pairs. So instead I let it parse the lists page by page, table by table, row by row... and so on :)

Matěj Suchánek (talkcontribs)

So the bot has just finished the task and maybe revealed a bug. Sadly, ListeriaBot refuses to update lists without any items left and WDQS seems to have missed some merges propably.

Summary by Josve05a

Two items were merged by me. I undid the merge after sources found them to be different people.

Jura1 (talkcontribs)

At Q15943290, you merge two items. Now they show up on some of the DOB/DOD reports.

I wonder if itwiki and nlwiki write about the same person.

Mbch331 (talkcontribs)

Just a quick search on Google using the birthdates gives me the conclusion that there are 2 painters with the same name. Either birthdate gives several results. I undid the merge and linked them using different from (P1889).

Jura1 (talkcontribs)

It seems to be mixed-up at Commons as well.

Josve05a (talkcontribs)

Yes, I noticed this when I did the merge (after I pressed the button). I intended to do some research later, but forgot to revert myself in the meantime...
