scope[edit]

I’m not yet sure what the scope of this should be. It could be similar to the 2017 basics workshop, which didn’t use SPARQL at all (that was part of the second session, but this year we don’t have time for that). It could be a basic introduction to SPARQL. Or it could be some sort of advanced query service / SPARQL workshop. What do others think? (See also the talk page of another session.) --Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE) (talk) 16:24, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An advanced workshop probably doesn’t make sense (I expect there’ll be some of that in the “hallway track” anyways ☺). Not sure if I’m the best person to do a session without any SPARQL, though… I think I tried that once and fell back into SPARQL pretty quickly :D --Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE) (talk) 16:24, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, let’s make an executive decision :) I think the scope will be basic SPARQL, for people who may have used the query service before (result interaction, query helper, possibly light query editing) but aren’t really familiar with SPARQL yet. --Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE) (talk) 14:13, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

call for facilitators[edit]

If anyone else wants to take part in facilitating this session (presenting, helping other attendees, or something else), let me know :) though I assume this also depends on the above section. --Lucas Werkmeister (WMDE) (talk) 16:24, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I can help (but I'll check the schedule at the last moment to verify that I'm available). — Envlh (talk) 17:00, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I can probably help, SPARQL or no SPARQL (you can do some pretty cool things with Petscan too for example) but like Envlh, I'll need to check the schedule. --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 17:32, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
