Wikidata Seventh Birthday - India Datathon

A Wikidata data-thon will be conducted between October 31, 2019 (Q57350745) and November 3, 2019 (Q57350758) to celebrate the Wikidata's seventh birthday (Q67080160). We encourage you to participate (and ask other contributors to do the same).

Tasks

Let's try to improve the results of some of the queries on our social media pages!

• From October 2nd: let's find more places in India named for Mahatma Gandhi! (There are certainly much more than 55 such places!)
  • If there's a page on your home Wikipedia that's named for Mahatma Gandhi and it's not shown in the query, then add named after (P138) Mahatma Gandhi (Q1001) to the page's Wikidata item if it's not there! (Make sure it has country (P17) India (Q668) and a value for coordinate location (P625) as well!)
  • Otherwise, if you know of some places named for Mahatma Gandhi that are not on Wikidata at all, then create items for them! (Make sure it has a valid instance of (P31), country (P17) India (Q668), and either 1) a value for coordinate location (P625) or 2) a picture of it on Commons, as well!)
• From October 15th: let's find more Indian women's footballers! (There are certainly more than the 14 listed in that query!)
  • If there's a page on your home Wikipedia about an Indian women's footballer and it's not shown in the query, then make sure that its Wikidata item has instance of (P31) human (Q5), country of citizenship (P27) India (Q668), occupation (P106) association football player (Q937857), and sex or gender (P21) trans woman (Q1052281) or female (Q6581072) (as the case may be) at the minimum.
  • Otherwise, if you know of some Indian women's footballers that are not on Wikidata at all, then create items for them! (Make sure that the properties listed in the previous sub-bullet point are set appropriately!)
• From October 19th: let's find more Indian kabaddi players! (There are certainly more than the 27 listed in that query!)
  • If there's a page on your home Wikipedia about an Indian kabaddi player and it's not shown in the query, then make sure that its Wikidata item has instance of (P31) human (Q5), country of citizenship (P27) India (Q668), and occupation (P106) kabaddi player (Q45968384) at the minimum.
  • Otherwise, if you know of some Indian kabaddi players that are not on Wikidata at all, then create items for them! (Make sure that the properties listed in the previous sub-bullet point are set appropriately!)
• From October 26th: let's finish making items for Indian constitutional amendments!
  • Make sure each new amendment item that is created has instance of (P31) constitutional amendment (Q53463) (with qualifier of (P642) Constitution of India (Q477108)) and a value for inception (P571) corresponding to the date on which the President of India gave it assent, or the date on which one-half of the state legislatures ratified it (for those amendments requiring it). (Please add a source, using reference URL (P854) if your source is a non-Wikimedia website, to the date if possible!)
• From October 31st: let's finish making items for Indian diplomatic missions in different countries! (There are certainly much more than 29 such missions operating!)
  • Make sure each item that is created has at least instance of (P31) embassy (Q3917681), high commission (Q18414273) or consulate general (Q372690) as appropriate, operator (P137) India (Q668), country (P17), coordinate location (P625) (if possible). Check the embassy or consulate websites for more details, add that as reference URL (P854) and use that as reference. For more information, click here.
