WT20[edit]
RfP scheduled to end after 27 December 2023 16:54 (UTC)
- WT20 (talk • contribs • new items • new lexemes • SUL • Block log • User rights log • User rights • xtools)
Hello, I am applying for sysop permission on Wikidata. I want to do more to help fight vandalism on Wikidata. I request to delete, protect and block by myself admin rights that I identify and need in my daily work here. I already did requests at WD:RFD and WD:AN and I know the policies of this tools.Thank you .--WT20 (talk) 16:54, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Votes[edit]
- Oppose Most of your contributions seem to be old unauthorized bot edits. I don't see all that much evidence of relevant experience that isn't from the last few days. Very few interactions etc. Infrastruktur (talk) 18:00, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Neutral A little too self-confident. I noticed some of your activity on the WD:RfD only recently this month, and there are just 251 edits that you made in this (almost passed) year. --Wolverène (talk) 18:12, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per Infrastruktur and Wolverène. Mahir256 (talk) 18:25, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Neutral per Wolverène. Please keep up the good work and I'll likely support next time. --94rain talk 02:45, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose too early, keep up your work and I will support in a few months --Ameisenigel (talk) 15:35, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comments[edit]
- Could you kindly add a list of languages spoken by you on your user-page? It may be a Babel box or a short mention. I believe it is a nice way to make the community more-less familiar with you, especially if you have an ambition for adminship... Regards, --Wolverène (talk) 18:18, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- @Wolverène okay I will add WT20 (talk) 18:29, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Also, I will wait with leaving a vote, but in the future I would also like to see a bit more cross-wiki experience. All but one of the edits done on Wikimedia projects, are on Wikidata. EPIC (talk) 18:26, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- @EPICBecause I just love working on Wikidata and am focusing on it WT20 (talk) 18:34, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- That is of course understandable - I like being on Wikidata too, but cross-wiki projects are a big reason why Wikidata was created, and therefore it is helpful for those applying for adminship on projects such as Wikidata, Meta-Wiki etc., have some sufficient cross-wiki experience. EPIC (talk) 18:47, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- @EPICYes, you're right, but some people are happy with just one project, such as wikimedia commons or mediawiki. They are happy with what is done in that project. We can't look at just the project they're working on, but how well they're doing on the project they're working on. Examples of How Cross-Wiki Experience Can Be Helpful:

- An admin on Meta-Wiki who has experience with both Wikipedia and Wikidata can better understand the needs of both communities when making decisions about site policies.
- An admin on a smaller language Wikipedia who has experience with a larger language Wikipedia can share best practices and help their community grow.
- An admin on Wikidata who has experience with other Wikimedia projects can help ensure that Wikidata's data is relevant and useful to those projects.WT20 (talk) 19:04, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- I am withdrawing the Apply and I would like to pursue further work and will Apply next year in February or March thanks.WT20 (talk) 17:27, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
