Allowed values | film festival (Q220505), film festival edition (Q27787439) |
Example | The Shape of Water (Q26698156) → 2017 Toronto International Film Festival (Q28445236) |

Motivation
We have publication date (P577) for wide or limited releases of movies in different markets (qualified by place of publication (P291)), date of first performance (P1191) for the (red carpet) premiere event, but no practical way to indicate when a title is part of the program at a festival. To be qualified by point in time (P585) for the date of screening, location (P276) for the venue, and P???? for the section the movie was screened in (like Un Certain Regard (Q1071326) in Cannes). - I'd prefer the inverse property, where 2017 Cannes Film Festival (Q24204092) <inverse of this property> The Square (Q27237522), A Man of Integrity (Q29401467), A Gentle Night (Q30333309) etc. Mahir256 (talk) 22:39, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Mahir256: I gave a lot of thought to this since either approach can work. My thinking was that a) awards recipients are not collected at the award item but vice versa (although that would probably result in less duplication), b) editors are more likely to try and list festival appearences for films rather than list the programs of festivals (although this is pure speculation), c) this way when no items are available for editions of film festivals, the item for the film festival can be used (although ideally items for editions would be created). But again, either approach can work. – Máté (talk) 06:43, 8 March 2018 (UTC)

- Not really sure about the best direction to do this. Given the potential volume, P793 seems unsuitable.

Not done @Máté: Use the newly created presented in (P5072).--Micru (talk) 07:58, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Micru: Thanks! – Máté (talk) 07:59, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
- I think "presented in" wasn't meant for this. Or maybe I just didn't understand these two proposals.
