- Comment I do not see the need for such a property. Why is genre (P136) not sufficient? How would, e.g., a prose poetry (Q1161145) be labeled? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 14:03, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- Comment Could the proposer point to a Wikipedia article where "text form" is explained? — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 14:05, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose use instance of (P31). author TomT0m / talk page 18:22, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
- Or genre (P136) if you like, but imho this is a specific property that should not exists and be replaced by instance of (P31). This property is just a way to make a specific property on a specific property, which will impair tools that are just built to rely on instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279). Please read Help:Classification if you don't understand what I mean. There might be a use for a similar property, but it should be used to define classes of text and to link prose poetry (Q1161145) to prose (Q676) (if actually they are not subclasses of each other, which I suspect, not from specific works.
- It's a really wrong solution because, not only it adds a specific typing property, but also ... It's used as a qualifier ! if we want to further classify some poem class, we would need qualifier on qualifiers ? This is totally inconsistent and will keep getting worse. Exactly something I'd like to avoid, an unreadable and inconsistent model across domains. author TomT0m / talk page 18:30, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose Agree with TomT0m. Use P31 instead. Concerning P136, I think is better than the solution given now using P136. Lymantria (talk) 07:50, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose Use instance of (P31). (I do not think genre (P136) is appropriate.) --Srittau (talk) 18:33, 7 August 2016 (UTC)
