Discussion
[edit]Support ODS is a good authoritative dictionary. I am wondering whether Society for Danish Language and Literature (Q12308333) is ok with the scraping? Is the entry_id persistent? I did not know about it. — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 22:55, 31 July 2021 (UTC)
- @fnielsen:I have emailed them and asked for the data being sent to me for DDO also. It is not illegal to scrape, just to publish it as a whole (which I have no intention of doing) because of copyright/EU database protection. I did not succeed in scraping DDO, so I hope they will either tell me how their DDO ElasticSearch endpoint works (it is different from the ODS one) or send the data I asked for. I'm pretty sure the IDs in both DDO and ODS are stable, but I'm only guessing as I do not know how the whole infrastructure is set up.--So9q (talk) 19:37, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
