Motivation

Censimento nazionale delle edizioni italiane del XVI secolo (Q1053428) is an excellent catalogue of books printed in 16th century. We already have properties EDIT16 catalogue author ID (P5492) and EDIT16 catalogue printer ID (P5493). --Horcrux (talk) 09:55, 26 January 2024 (UTC)

  I see your point in hinting at the "canonical" tag; I'm not sure, however, how reliable this actually is. Two of the three "alternate" links are identical. It would be great to hear from someone familiar with the EDIT16 infrastructure what they intend as persistent URI for their resources. Your suggested URL format is closely linked to the technical infrastructure that is bound to change in the future. The other URI/URL is more abstract and therefore maybe more likely not to change over time (it's of course an organizational decision). The shorter URI points to your URL via two redirects, by the way: https://edit16.iccu.sbn.it/luogo/CNCL18 -> https://edit16.iccu.sbn.it/c/luoghi/view?groupId=35230&id=CNCL18 -> https://edit16.iccu.sbn.it/resultset-luoghi/-/luoghi/detail/CNCL18
