Discussion[edit]
- Comment Why don't we just generalise shooting handedness (P423) and use it for all sports? --99of9 (talk) 02:55, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
- playing hand (P741) is already used for tennis players. If we want to generalise it, take the "shoot"-word out, and merge them. Edoderoo (talk) 16:01, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
- The only potential issue I see is that some baseball players bat and throw with different hands as a function of the positions they play. That said, I'm happy to streamline the data. Kbschroeder84 (talk) 17:56, 26 June 2019 (UTC)Kbschroeder84
- This could be dealt with via qualifiers. e.g. applies to part->throwing, applies to part->hitting --99of9 (talk) 00:06, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
- I think this would be best off structured using a qualifier to handedness (P552). --Yair rand (talk) 20:32, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- Comment It might end up being confusing when a person with the value "right-handed", is left-handed but for batting. Given the planned number of statements, it might be easier to create a subproperty for whatever property this seems suitable. --- Jura 21:42, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
