Motivation[edit]

acharts.co (Q9580090) is listed as a reliable music charts archive for multiple countries by w:en:Wikipedia:Record charts/Sourcing guide; its data set begins in March 2003 and is still updated. Many artists who have charted should already be notable, so I would expect Wikidata items to already exist for almost all artists on the site. The site doesn't seem to have an artists index, but it would presumably be possible to obtain all of the IDs by crawling all of the chart data.

Many of the artist pages fetch data from MusicBrainz and contain the artist's MusicBrainz artist ID (P434) in the page source (<link itemprop="sameAs" ... />), so such pages could potentially be matched to Wikidata items automatically. Jc86035 (talk) 12:07, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
