Motivation[edit]
Notified participants of WikiProject Italy This is the seventh property proposal in the IRIS project; since my last one: the number of entries connected to Wikidata has now surpassed 3500 entries, and after some attempts @Bargioni: has elaborated an efficient program to match IRIS entries with Wikidata items comparing titles in IRIS and in ORCID (this allowed to match more than 3500 entries, or 10.7% of IRIS Sapienza author ID (P9956); it will be soon applied to other IRIS); the public conference of 9 October in Pisa went well (slides are available, hopefully we will have also the recording soon); after that, I have received a proposal of a collective subproject on Wikidata related to the various IRIS of Italian Superior Graduate Schools. These research institutions (en:Superior Graduate Schools in Italy), 6 of which have an IRIS as of now (SNS, SSSUP, IMT already having a property; GSSI, IUSS, SISSA here proposed), although small have a crucial importance in high-quality research carried out in Italy and there are significant overlaps between the authors in their IRIS; involving these institutions in the work on Wikidata can thus have a significant impact not only in terms of work done here, but also in visibility of IRIS project in front of Italian universities.
