Discussion[edit]

@Karl Oblique: Is that necessary, why not notify the editors to add the references Germartin1 (talk) 21:03, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The constraint isn't particular new, and it is highlighted (IN (rather rare) ALL-CAPS) in the descriptions for most languages. The has been a discussion here that received positive feedback, included a plan to carry through with a one-month timeline, which is now two months old. That discussion was also linked on the property discussion page, among many other discussions of the problem. I don't see a method to inform each individual editor. Or, in a slightly different light, removing these statements is the best method I can think of to get in touch with them. They are free to re-add the statements with sources, which, practically speaking, is done in exactly the same way as adding sources to existing statements would be. I do agree it should be sourced, but even on Wikipedia, an obvious statement like it's a human, male, or African-American, is usually not referenced. So I strongly oppose deleting them, as there seems to be not a lot of abuse with the ones I checked. Instead we should encourage users to add reference on them.
