Re:[edit]
Thanks a lot! I always do a research before I create items, this time I didn't found the first item that you deleted. It's a little bit difficult to find some items because there isn't in your own language and when you write it in English and you make a little mistake in writing you still don't find it. Thanks for the correction! Restu20 01:30, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Definitely! Maybe we can make some suggestions to devs for the implementation of such features. :-) Restu20 01:35, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Why did you delete it? Was it something wrong with the entry?--Ymblanter (talk) 06:56, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- Q4918 was created as a duplicate of it, but with a lot more entries. As there is no merge currently, I deleted the one with less links, and moved them over. See conversation above Reedy (talk) 16:05, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- I do not think this is a good idea, the earlier number should have been kept. Would you please restore Q1244, I will convert it into smth else.--Ymblanter (talk) 16:07, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
Main Page in British English[edit]
Hello.
May I please draw your attention to the discussion at Wikidata talk:Main Page#Redirects, in case you are not already aware of it. It appears that your action logged as:
07:13, 27 October 2012: Reedy moved page Main Page to Wikidata:Main Page without leaving a redirect
...has had the unfortunate side effect of some individuals "losing" the Main Page, if their preference language is "British English". I added a redirection for the Talk page, so please accept my apologies if this simply complicates the situation.
- Regards, MODCHK (talk) 06:47, 3 November 2012 (UTC)
- I only did what the instructions of the Wikidata developers told me to do. I suspect part of the problem is whatever is on MediaWiki:Main_Page/en-gb. But until another bug is fixed, this can't be trivially checked via a web browser. I'll just delete the redirect later. Reedy (talk) 14:50, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

- The actual problem is Wikidata not handling fallbacks. It's the same reason that even if an item has a label set in English, you don't see it on en-gb. Exactly the same problem with pt, and pt-br. Reedy (talk) 14:53, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

So I've heard people say that Wikimedia stuff somewhat resembles H2G2, but somehow I don't think that this is exactly what they meant, hm? --Yair rand (talk) 05:37, 22 November 2012 (UTC)

batch/8334[edit]
Hello,
Thank you for taking care of my wrong batch from yesterday.
Just so you know: I'm going to restart the other interrupted batch, which works fine. Then I will work again on my lists and make a new one from scratch -so you'll probably see me on the same items, but with good edits.
Could you please confirm to me that all errors are gone?
Thanks. Arpyia (talk) 12:50, 11 February 2019 (UTC)
- No problem. Mistakes happen, I just wanted to stop that one before it propagated much further. The other batch did indeed look fine. According to [5] 4028 out of 4034 edits were undone by quickstatements. I'm guessing the rest were undone by other people. Reedy (talk) 18:42, 11 February 2019 (UTC)

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment[edit]
Dear Reedy,
I hope you are doing good,
I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.
I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits.
Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.
The study will start in late February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes. If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link
I will contact you with the link to start the study.
For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa
In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.
Thank you for considering taking part in this research.
Regards
