When running QuickStatements batch mode using a bot account there're some items created multiple times (e.g. ) so I have to merge them later. Probably there's multiple workers/threads try to execute the same command. There should be a lock mechanism. Alternatively you may assign eash task to an individual worker, but you should also consider the issue that some workers may be unresponsive or not working.

Wasn't that the day everything was broken?

The problem persists, could you have a look? The creation of duplicates can be very annoying!

Workaround: don't use the batch mode (or is it don't use "retry"?)

Epìdosis (talkcontribs)

In which sense don't use "retry"? Anyway, not using batch mode is fine, although obviously uncomfortable (you should always keep the browser open and it is much more difficult to have errors corrected).

Batch mode has a retry feature ..

Personally, I don't really use batch mode.

If the creation of a new item fails when you are not using batch mode, it is very difficult to find which one has failed.

If the creation of a new item fails when you are using batch mode, you just have to use retry.

The problem of duplicates happens in batch mode both during normal addition and during retry.

In non-batch mode, I just keep clicking retry ;)

This is not a issue of whether to retry. The issue is multiple workers or threads doing the same task without lock mechanism.
