Analogie[edit]

@Jura1 : I collect some data for watermill (Q185187) this time. I use end time (P582) (if year available I put in) for constructing data. I think this is also usable for statistics - why we need some more Item for former hospitals? Regards, Conny (talk) 15:56, 18 June 2019 (UTC).[reply]

For example - is a hospital or not? Regards, Conny (talk) 16:06, 18 June 2019 (UTC).[reply]

For Q1908282: I don't know and it depends on the point in time: according to the reference I used it isn't any more, but I couldn't tell you when one statement is true, when the other statement is true. So I couldn't add the relevant qualifiers (e.g. as at Q56236170#P31).
For the purposes of a list like Wikidata:WikiProject Medicine/Hospitals by country/Germany, I consider it a former hospital. We need a reliable, efficient way to generate this type of list.
I'm not really convinced of the use you make of "end time". Maybe "service retirement" would work better for watermills. The approach for watermills is likely different, as you can't really re-use them for other liquids. --- Jura 17:31, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

@Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ): before changing things back and forth, could tell me what you are trying to do? Which items you want to fix? There is a risk to mess up the current structure and the reports it generates, e.g. Wikidata:WikiProject Medicine/Hospitals by country/United States of America. --- Jura 19:32, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How is it damaging the report? Is the report about hospital_buildings or healthcare_organizations, because it includes both. It seems a "former hospital" is the intersection of a "hospital building" and a "former building or structure". Is that not correct? --RAN (talk) 19:39, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think buildings are might be a part of a hospital, not a parent class. What items are you looking at? --- Jura 20:17, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a hospital is an organization, a building is, well, an architectural structure. They may both be applied to one "thing", that is, it is a former hospital and was located in a former hospital building. --WiseWoman (talk) 11:38, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
