Cabinet/Government[edit]
This property is clearly stating cabinet (Q640506) as allowed value. The proposal hence says "Government/Cabinet to which belongs a minister".For countries holding government (Q7188) only should this property be broadened to include also government (Q7188). Breg Pmt (talk) 15:55, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
- What instances do you have in mind?
--- Jura 07:01, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
@Jura1: As I am saying countries using government (Q7188). I am quite aware that cabinet is used in many countries. But as for now using cabinet only, will not include secretary of state (Q736559) who in many countries are political positions following the government, but not attending the cabinet Meetings. I also have Government of Gibraltar (Q128986) as an examle. Or as the official page for a gouvernment The term "government" is used in everyday language in two senses: One is the Prime Minister and the ministers gathered for meetings as the Council of State, presided over by the King, and the other is the ministers gathered for government conferences, chaired by the Prime Minister. On this page, you will find information on the current government and past governments. Breg Pmt (talk) 13:45, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- Not sure if items like "government of Gibraltar" are meant to be used as a qualifier value of the function of individuals. You might want to add statements to the items for the positions instead. There is a tendency to overload P39 statements.

@Jura1: As I am reading it there is a diffenerence between a cabinet and a government thinking that Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Q3492070) is a part of the government (political) and therefor should be allowed to use this propertyalso. And With reference again to the proposal saying "Government/Cabinet to wich belongs a ministery" Breg Pmt (talk) 15:44, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Comment User:Jura1 as a matter of interrest? Why could not "government of Gibraltar" be used as a qualifier value. Pmt (talk) 15:48, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
- I don't think it's the same as the sample given in the proposal. Besides, why should be added as a qualifier for P39 when it could be found through the item of the position?
--- Jura 15:55, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
@Jura1: Can yuo please explain further the comment be added as a qualifier for P39. Can you identyfy the qualifier ? breg Pmt (talk) 16:12, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Also applies to officeholder (P1308)?[edit]
If this property is used as qualifier for position held (P39), I suppose it can also be used as qualifier for the inverse property, officeholder (P1308). Right? I have tried specifying it for the oldest holders of the position Justice Minister of Denmark (Q6317024). --C960657 (talk) 21:27, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
