How many agencies abroad are there really?

According to this page from October 2020 on regeringen.se there are 108, according to the front page of myndighetsregistret there are 112, and when you filter by "Svenska utlandsmyndigheter" on said website you get 205 hits. Popperipopp (talk) 08:21, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Enitities under regions

We got a good point of view on the CivicTech Sweden's meetup: regions usually have many entities under them. For example Västra Götaland Regional Council (Q3233447) have this listing where most are separate legal entities (like Sahlgrenska University Hospital Network (Q76347813)) and only some are companies owned by them. What status do these really have, and do we want to include all of them or only some? Ainali (talk) 10:43, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

The vast majority appears not to be separate legal entities but just administrative sub-units(Förvaltningar). Abbe98 (talk) 17:55, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

I'm unable to identify any case were a separate legal entity is something other than a company in the list above. I would however imagine that we in Sweden as a whole can find examples of foundation (Q157031), voluntary association (Q48204), company (Q783794), and common area (Q10660893). Hmm, I think we were a bit confused by the meetup then. I was looking into it as well and agree with you. "Non-government entities with government duties"

Do we care about these? How to handle them? Ekonomistyrningsverket did a survey in 2007: Att verka genom andra : Kartläggning av organ med statligt åtagande

From the preface:

"Regeringen har i Ekonomistyrningsverkets (ESV) regleringsbrev för budgetåret 2007 gett verket i uppdrag att kartlägga organ som inte är statliga myndigheter men som i praktiken utgör en del av det statliga åtagandet."

The report lists 579 such entities.

That is a great point! Yes, I think we do care about them. Besides what you listed this is also very common at municipal level where there might be privatized waterworks (Q10373565), real estate company (Q1660104) etc. As a start, we should add member of (P463) and owned by (P127)/owner of (P1830) on these entities as appropriate. Then we can start to think of how queries would look like and how we would want to visualize it. Ainali (talk) 07:57, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
