Ok, it seem to work on correctly Chrome, but it give no result on Firefox.

Hsarrazin (talkcontribs)

Hello @Ainali

I can confirm that it works on Edge : yesterday, the queries failed with a syntax error on line 5 (sorry I did not note the exact place of the error)

Today, it works neatly on Edge, but on Firefox, the query returns an invisible result :

I can see "Most common properties that use "Saint-Elie-de-Caxton" as value", then

property
propertyLabel
count
url

, but nothing displays, which seems strange, because if I copy the text, I get

property wd:P47
propertyLabellimitrophe de
count5
url

do you know what can cause that ?

Ainali (talkcontribs)

The results are there, they are just very far to the right. If you select a few rows, you can then scroll to the right to see the result. Unfortunately, I have no idea on how to make it look nicer.

Hsarrazin (talkcontribs)

ahhhhh, what's strange is that it's only on Firefox... Edge and Chrome seem ok

Please do not interfere (this way) when I am building the item. Also, in this case {{Q|Q114757615}} is explicitly not the (abstract) chemical element, but its {{Q|Q2512777}}.

Ainali (talkcontribs)

Ok, my mistake. But in the future, this could be avoided if it is perfectly clear from the description that it is something different.

DePiep (talkcontribs)

OK, thxs. Btw, making that clear would take some more time than one minute. Also, within chemistry the topic[[Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Chemistry#Metaclasses_for_chemical_entities_and_using_instance_of_(P31)/subclass_of_(P279)|of substances]] is open for discussion & improvement. So meanwhile some unclarity might be unavoidable.

I think you (or someone else) needs to continue the work on Turkey under Wikidata:WikiProject Govdirectory. Your presentation was interesting, but I didn't quite follow into the SparQL details.

Ainali (talkcontribs)

Ok! Thanks for joining and asking good questions!

Hello Ainali,
I have a doubt, could you check the S1 gloss in veranda (L298936) and tell me if it's correct Swedish, please? Thanks in advance.

Ainali (talkcontribs)

I am a native speaker, but I am not sure what the definition of a "veranda" in Swedish is :)

Eihel (talkcontribs)

According to Svenska Akademiens Ordbok Q193508, it is about: glazed extension of a building. Are these the right words in Swedish in S1, otherwise you could put the right gloss. Plz

Great, I polished it!

Call for participation in the interview study with Wikidata editors

Kholoudsaa (talkcontribs)

Dear Ainali,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King’s College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research that develops a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I would love to talk with you to know about your current ways to choose the items you work on in Wikidata and understand the factors that might influence such a decision. Your cooperation will give us valuable insights into building a recommender system that can help improve your editing experience.

Participation is completely voluntary. You have the option to withdraw at any time. Your data will be processed under the terms of UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018). The information and data that you provide will remain confidential; it will only be stored on the password-protected computer of the researchers. We will use the results anonymized to provide insights into the practices of the editors in item selection processes for editing and publish the results of the study to a research venue. If you decide to take part, we will ask you to sign a consent form, and you will be given a copy of this consent form to keep.

If you’re interested in participating and have 15-20 minutes to chat (I promise to keep the time!), please either contact me at [] or [] or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmmFHaiB20nK14wrQJgfrA18PtmdagyeRib3xGtvzkdn3Lgw/viewform?usp=sf_link with your choice of the times that work for you.

I’ll follow up with you to figure out what method is the best way for us to connect.

Please contact me if you have any questions or require more information about this project.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Ainali (talkcontribs)

Cool project! Did you know about :en:User:SuggestBot that does something similar on English Wikipedia?

There are also some adjacent thoughts in the Growth team's Newcomer tasks.

Since the last post on the blog is from 2017 and it's only about the Wikipedia Weekly (Q13835647), I thought it should be removed. But, as the founder, I defer to you of course ;-)

I think I get how you see it now. The WWN is based on WW. WW will never again be the umbrella/brand for a new podcast (episode). So maybe modelling the link between WW & WWN with replaces (P1365) and replaced by (P1366) would make that clearer? Because then it makes sense that WWN has subsumed the online presence (twitter, website, ...) of WW. I say this as someone who only recently learned of these projects...

Ainali (talkcontribs)

Oh, you are right, I misread the label. It's correct that it is not the website of the network, which is the umbrella and there have been new episodes, but unfortunately not posted to the website. I'll undo my undo.

Why add en label to >100 languages?

LA2 (talkcontribs)

Aha! Dessutom behövs mallar för proper nouns (Göteborg, USA m.fl.), adverb och andra ordklasser.
