Goals
The goals were inspired in the other biomedical projects in Wikidata, namely Molecular Biology and Medicine.
The broad goal is to establish Wikidata as a useful platform for curating and distributing structured content related to neurosciences.
The long-term goals of this project are:
- Fully describe neuroscience articles with simple statements.
- Curate and create properties to describe the knowledge in the field and the rules of use for these properties (qualifiers, datatypes)
- Design tools to visualize and interpret the structured information
Specific goals
Cell types
- Create items and describe major neuronal cell types. A great resource is the Cell Ontology resource for Nervous System:
- - Task: Create a list with the Cell Ontology items that are present in Wikidata.

Neurological disorders
- Create items and describe major neurological disorders.
- - Task: Create a list with Neurological disorders items that are present in Wikidata
Item to be developed to showcase status : Alzheimer's disease
Brain regions
- Create items and describe brain regions, with a special focus on the human brain.
- - Task: Create a list with human brain region that are present in Wikidata

Methods and techniques to study neurosciences
- Create items and describe the methods used in neuroscience research.
- - Task: Create a list with neuroscience methods that are present in Wikidata

Example of engagement
This project was created in a metascience hackathon (No-Budget Science Hack Week 2019). Our progress was registered at Hackathon.
During the hackathon, however, our efforts became more similar to Wikidata:WikiProject_Medicine/Data_models/Trials. Some content will be migrated there. Check the Hackathon talk page for more details.
