Creating a WikiProject
[edit]If you don't see a WikiProject on the above list that reflects your interests or deals with an area of Wikidata that you would like to work on, do not hesitate to initiate a new one!
For categorizing WikiProjects, use appropriate subcategories in the form of Category:Geographical WikiProjects (for WikiProject France, WikiProject Rivers, and so on) and Category:Sports WikiProjects (for WikiProject Baseball, WikiProject Basketball, and so on) — not Category:WikiProjects Geography and Category:WikiProjects Sports.
If you wish to suggest a new WikiProject (instead of creating one yourself), don't hesitate to put it on the talk page.
WikiProjects can have a list of participants in a subpage "Participants", which allows to use {{Ping project}} to ping all the listed participants. The names of the users who have been inactive for more than three years (or for more than one year, if the list exceeds 45 names) can be moved to a subpage "Participants/Inactive", linked at the top of the page; when moving usernames to the "Inactive" subpage, please ping them in the edit summary or send them a message in their user talk page.
