Tool of the week
[edit]- User:Spinster/Wikidata references made easier: The script helps in adding references to statements, in order to provide context for our data, make the data more reliable, transparent and trustworthy for anyone who uses it .
Other Noteworthy Stuff
[edit]- Registration is now open for the previously-announced course on the Wikidata ontology run by Peter Patel-Schneider and Ege Doğan. To register for the course send email to pfpschneider@gmail.com providing your Wikidata user name. Also include a sentence or two on what you want to get out of the course and what your interest in Wikidata is. Due to the number of people who have already expressed interest in the course it may be necessary to limit registration. If this is necessary we will select a group with varying expertise and interest in Wikidata and prefer those who have already expressed interest.
The course will start on 1 May. Lectures will be every Thursday from 1pm to 3pm EDT (UTC-4), skipping 29 May and 12 June and ending on 19 June. Participants who cannot attend the first lecture will be able to view it afterwards.
The goal of the course is to expand knowledge of the Wikidata ontology among the Wikidata community. Participants are expected to have a working knowledge of Wikidata and to attend the lectures, perform the exercises, and take part in a group project. Exercises are expected to take about one hour per week to complete. The amount of time taken for the project is up to the project participants.
