Function details:

The data for the Lëtzebuerger Online Dictionnaire at https://www.lod.lu/ is CC0 data published at https://data.public.lu/fr/datasets/letzebuerger-online-dictionnaire/ and I am currently working on a script to extract the relevant data and add it to Wikidata.

There are nearly 30,000 entries, consisting of:

  • 18,680 nouns
  • 6057 verbs
  • 3657 adjectives
  • 745 adverbs
  • 681 various other parts of speech

It includes genders and singular/plural forms for nouns, conjugations and auxiliary verbs for verbs and case and degree of comparison inflections for adjectives, which would be added as forms or statements as appropriate.

There are translations or definitions in English, French, German and Portuguese for most entries, which I would add as glosses.

Older releases of the data include base 64-encoded pronunciation, which I have extracted and would like to try and upload to Commons. If I succeed with that, I will link those too. However, it seems that the audio often contains pronunciations of multiple forms (e.g. singular and plural), so I need to look into splitting the audio data into multiple files first.

Each entry has an ID which I have proposed a property for at Wikidata:Property proposal/Lëtzebuerger Online Dictionnaire ID.
