Task/s: Export cultural heritage monuments data from Russian Wikivoyage database

Function details: The Russian Wikivoyage hosts the largest database of cultural heritage monuments in Russia. It contains over 180 thousand objects, but only slightly less than 10,000 of them have a representation in the Wikidata. Volunteers of the Wikivoyage keep working on the completeness, accuracy and consistency of descriptions of cultural heritage objects. This bot implements consistent uploading of basic information about the specified cultural heritage sites to the Wikidata from the Wikivoyage. The following information is exported for a heritage site from the Wikivoyage database to Wikidata:

  • Object name in Russian (name field) — entity label.
  • Image (image field) — statement for Property:P18 (image).
  • Object identifier (knid field) — statement for Property:P1483 (kulturnoe-nasledie.ru ID).
  • If the object is part of a complex (complex field) — statement for Property:P361 (part of).
  • Number from the state register (EGROKN) (knid-new field) — statement for Property:P5381 (EGROKN ID).
  • Object type (type field) — statement for Property:P31 (instance of): for a monument of urban planning and architecture — Q2319498 (landmark), for a historical monument — Q1081138 (historic site), for an object of monumental art — Q4989906 (monument), for a monument of archeology — Q839954 (archaelogical site), for a historical settlement — Q3920245 (historical city in Russia).
  • A statement is generated for Property:P1434 (heritage designation) with the value Q8346700 (cultural heritage site in Russia) and references based on information about the object's state protection.
  • Locality (munid field) — statement for Property:P131 (located in ATE).
  • An unstructured address (address field) is translated into a statement for Property:P2795 (directions).
  • Coordinates (lat and long fields) — statement for the Property:P625 (coordinate location).
  • Russian Wikipedia page (wiki field) — ruwiki link associated with this entity.
  • Wkimedia Commons Category (commonscat field) — the associated commonswiki link.

The tool requires Wikivoyage page ids as command-line parameters. The specified Wikivoyage page must contain cultural heritage monuments list. The tool skips monuments without coordinates, or in destroyed state, or with dismissed heritage status. This tool is hosted on Wikimedia Toolforge. --Avsolov (talk) 18:06, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, there is no trivial way to distinguish different samples for heritage sites classified officially as "monument of urban planning and architecture". Such objects may be parks or gardens, some constructions like bridges, mansions, city quarters etc, not only buildings. Avsolov (talk) 22:23, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if you noticed, but we try (tried?) to avoid adding "historic monument" as P31 and use the dedicated property instead. --- Jura 07:38, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You mean "historic site" and "heritage designation", don't you? Well, Russian official registry provides the following attributes for heritage objects: "type" (or "typology") and "category of protection". More details regarding Property:P1434: we plan to reflect protection category onto this property. Protection category may be represented as Q105835774 (tentative cultural heritage site), Q23668083 (federal cultural heritage site), Q105835744 (regional cultural heritage site), Q105835766 (local cultural heritage site), or Q105835782 (candidate heritage site).
