Motivation[edit]
The WW2 Thesaurus is maintained by NIOD, The Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies. As an authority source it adds valuable validation to terms related to WW2 on Wikidata and in return, allows users of the WW2 Thesaurus to retrieve the enriched structured data that Wikidata concepts might contain. 85jesse (talk) 09:55, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

- Support Especially camps in former Dutch Indies needs more attention in Wikidata. And I think in the long run we should distinguish camp organisations vs sites. Currently proposal says 'always incomplete' but as those camps are relevant for events and persons I think we could complete this in Wikidata. --Hannolans (talk) 10:30, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comment The value for "represents" was not correct. It should be the item for the WW2 Thesaurus {Q|Q107530575}}. That would also be the correct "applicable 'stated in' value" value as well. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 06:51, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comment The way this property is formatted, it is specifically for camps (see formatter URL), but the thesaurus itself is broader than just concentration camps. If this is intended only for camps, then the name should be changed. If it is meant to provide links to any term in the thesaurus, then the name is fine, but the formatter URL and examples need to be broader to accommodate other kinds of concepts. For example: Modernisme: https://data.niod.nl/WO2_Thesaurus/1828; Landdagen: https://data.niod.nl/WO2_Thesaurus/3587; Kuikhorne: https://data.niod.nl/WO2_Thesaurus/locations/14037; Albanese strijdkrachten: https://data.niod.nl/WO2_Thesaurus/corporaties/4439, Fusillade bij Herbaijum: https://data.niod.nl/WO2_Thesaurus/events/10896, etc. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 07:02, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Thank you UWashPrincipalCataloger for your feedback. I have in the end decided to change the name of this property and we will add additional properties for other 'concept schemes' from the WW2 thesaurus. Best. 85jesse (talk) 06:50, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
