Discussion
- Support. So the value needs to be a lexeme or a sense? Tubezlob (🙋) 10:06, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- Definitely a sense if we want to treat them like translations for now. However if we could be more precise, it would be an object with one spelling (which could be an inflexion one) and several senses. JackPotte (talk) 17:34, 26 April 2018 (UTC)
- OK yes, it's logical. Tubezlob (🙋) 19:04, 26 April 2018 (UTC)

Weak oppose the current proposal- The examples seem to show that we list false friends in wrong-correct pairs? Deryck Chan (talk) 12:50, 4 June 2018 (UTC)- :) @JackPotte, Tubezlob, YULdigitalpreservation:: please double-check/complete.
--- Jura 12:44, 12 June 2018 (UTC)- Well, I'm not proposing to list the common translation mistakes, at all. There isn't any "wrong pair" in the linguistic concept of false friend. I see it more like "official pairs" with a specific property. Exactly like homographs are into a single language. JackPotte (talk) 13:02, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- Maybe it's just the formatting. It would be clearer if the entire thing was on one line, given that you link from the sense of one lexeme to the sense of another lexeme. Maybe second sample with already created lexemes would make things easier.
--- Jura 13:16, 12 June 2018 (UTC)- @Jura1, JackPotte: Shouldn't it be fr:Parking <-> en:Parking if the property is intended to represent false friends, not correct translations? Deryck Chan (talk) 12:49, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- Certainly yes. Because sometimes the spelling is different (eg: fr:fourniture <-> en:furniture). JackPotte (talk) 13:10, 20 June 2018 (UTC)
- @JackPotte: I've changed the example to fourniture - furniture, because fr:parking - en:parking isn't an unambiguous example of a false-friend pair: they do share a meaning of "place to store an empty car". Changing to Neutral for now. Deryck Chan (talk) 10:23, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- As the datatype is "sense", the sample should list a specific sense.

- Comment @JackPotte, Tubezlob, YULdigitalpreservation, Nepalicoi: after some hickups yesterday, the property you proposed/supported seems now functional. Please make good use of it. If there are any issues, please report them at Wikidata_talk:Lexicographical_data#Senses_are_now_part_of_Lexicographical_Data. --- Jura 11:10, 19 October 2018 (UTC)
