Motivation[edit]
The UK's eShop has different identifiers to the US eShop (Nintendo eShop ID (P8084)), most notably including games released as far back as 1997 while the American store now only contains Switch games. Some games are also no longer available in the US eShop, like Nightmare Boy (Q124068364), which currently has a deprecated value for the P8084, while the UK eShop listing is still active. --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 17:29, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

- Comment Even https://www.nintendo.co.uk/-/-$1.html works as a formatter URL − see eg https://www.nintendo.co.uk/-/-267112.html. Also, I noticed this works for hardware too, eg Nintendo 64 (Q184839)→625959 Jean-Fred (talk) 19:03, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- That's a very interesting observation - seems like the formatter URL works for nearly every single webpage on Nintendo.co.uk, though I can't really see any valid uses for this identifier except for games and hardware. The hardware section also includes individual amiibo figures, which don't have items, but would serve as a good identifier if they ever did. I suppose including anything else in the scope makes it less of "Nintendo eShop (UK) ID" and more of something like "Nintendo.co.uk ID", which we unfortunately wouldn't be able to have as many property constraints on. --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 22:51, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
- I inspected the source code of the pages and learnt:
- the ID is referred to as “page ID”
- it is valid across all 15 European eShop sites: https://www.nintendo.de/-/-267112.html, https://www.nintendo.fr/-/-267112.html, https://www.nintendo.es/-/-267112.html

- I've renamed the proposal to Nintendo eShop (Europe) ID to reflect this - not an exactly accurate title since it includes South Africa, but I think it's close enough.
