Motivation[edit]

The DIP (Q1235165) (abbreviated DIP, or previously DIP21) is an official database run by the German Bundestag (Q154797) which records the legislative process of federal level draft laws in Germany including all steps in Bundestag and Bundesrat referenced via links to the minutes in addition to some metadata like a brief summary and keywords. Once a law has been passed, some additional metadata like date of coming into force and a link to the relevant page in Germany's gazette (Federal Law Gazette (Q836156)) is added to the database.

At the time of the proposal there are currently more than 130 statements with described by source (P1343)DIP (Q1235165)described at URL (P973)⟨URL⟩. The URLs link to an older version of DIP, but the contained ID is still used in the new DIP. However, not all statements can be easily migrated since some laws were passed as articles of so called "Artikelgesetze" (=article laws, laws which consist of several articles that might be amendments or individual laws themselves) which therefore don't have their own DIP-ID but rather should be modelled as ⟨individual law⟩part of (P361)⟨article law⟩, ⟨article law⟩⟨DIP-ID⟩⟨ID⟩. If this property is accepted, I'd like to take care of that.

Regarding the formatter URL: The "_" in the URL would canonically be the law's name (e.g. 191205). Technically, though, it can be any arbitrary string consisting of at least one character, so if preferred it could be replaced by something more meaningful. --Nw520 (talk) 10:54, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
